Going back for first time in a while

I am going back this October for the first time in six years. I am wondering if anyone can tell me if they still offer ship to the hotel gift when purchasing merchandise in the parks.

Seems to be unavailable, never returned when I was back in August 2020 so kinda surprised it's still not back. Then again, the likely just don't have the staff.

It's still not back.

I think it gets forgotten about too much, honestly. It need more attention, it's the kind of thing they can too easily get away with quietly never mentioning again.

Edit: They also don't send to the front of the park. You can very rarely find a store that will offer to hold the item for you; I've spotted the service at two, one of which is Windtraders and it ONLY works if you buy a full sized Banshee.

it costs Disney money- therefore it should come as no surprise. If it does return I expect a surcharge.

I can't speak for everywhere, but at least at Dok Ondar's at MGM, they will ship it home for you. Max price was $40 when I went in March. My buddy and it spent...well, it was a lot, and I paid for all of our stuff together and he paid me back, so we got 6 legacy lightsabers and a bunch of other stuff shipped for $40.

In 2019, I got the souvenir rancor tooth beer flight set from Oga's, then went to Dok Ondar's (yeah, I have problems), and they included the rancor tooth sets in the stuff that got shipped home.

Point being - if you have a large purchase at one shop, shipping it home might be cost-effective. Or if you have multiple purchases, you could try to bundle them.

Last trip back it was gone. We usually do a lot of souvenir shopping on our trips and it really made us scale back on what we would normally buy. Disney lost out on a lot of our money that would have been spent. Shipping costs to ship items home was enough for us to not consider that option too.

Hope you have the best time! Trust me, despite what the whiners on this board constantly post, WDW, while certainly different in many respects, is still an unbelievably fun place to be.

Though when I leave my packages for a couple of days I kinda forget how much I’ve spent and then surprised how much when I pick them up.
