Here is my idea for a new Godzilla ride for the Japan Pavillion in World Showcase or Disney MGM Studios. The queue is themed to the Earth Defense Force HQ from the upcoming 50th anniversary Godzilla Film, Godzilla Final Wars. You are about to enter training to become a new soldier to join the fight against the monsters that have been rampaging the world. However, just as you go through your training preperations, several giant monsters have arrived ashore in Tokyo, and you need to move out. You are directed to one of four vehicles: the Atragon, the SY-3, Garuda, and Super X. You must help fend of the monster attack force which includes Godzilla, Rodan, Mothra, Anguirus, Manda, King Ghidorah, Gigan, and Hedorah. You must use the weapons at your disposal to fend them off one at a time. The ride itself will be a interactive simulator similar to Mission:Space, without the weightlessness effects. Each vehicle has different weapons. The Atragon has a drill,a Absolute Zero Cannon, and missles, the SY-3 uses torpedoes, the Super X has freezing masers, cadmium missles, and can reflect beam weapons, and the Garuda has laser cannons and missles. Different vehicles will progress through each monster in different ways, but the last monster you will battle will be Godzilla, but the battle is interupted by Monster X and you will have to help Godzilla take down the beast.
Here are some pictures of each vehicle AND Monster X from different sources on the internet.

I think world showcase is supposed to be a celebration of each nation rather than mocking them. While Godzilla is Japanese it is sort of making fun of it. How would the USA like a hillbilly ride or a UK food tasting pavillion?

If you think about it, Godzilla is a byproduct of one of the most dreadful things the Japanese had suffered, the advent of nuclear weapons. Godzilla was created by Toho studios after the H-Bomb test in the Bikini Atoll. You see, a Japanese fishing boat, the Lucky Dragon, was in the area of the Bikini Atoll test when it was detonated. The fishermen developed radiation sickness and the fish, who of course got radioactive, and yet, they ended up making it to market, making people sick from the radiation. Toho Studios cmade the first Godzilla film as a anti-nuclear war piece, and the director, Ishiro Honda, had a small hope that somehow, the film would end the creation and testing of nuclear weapons. Though the film was successful, Atomic weapons were still being made(this was in the middle of the Cold War of course). That and when it came stateside, American distributors slapped Raymond Burr in and deleted all references to Nagasaki,Hiroshima, and the Tokyo firebombing. Also, the weapon used against Godzilla at the end, the Oxygen Destroyer, was a symbol of how science had began going into places where it shouldn't (making more destructive weapons, and many cases of simply playing God)and the Oxygen Destroyer could be even worse then the H-Bomb and Godzilla. If you only assume Godzilla with sci-fi camp, go see the uncut edition that's running in select theaters this summer, I have the listings here from Rialto Pictures, the studio that's re-releasing it:

Oh, and for god's sake, don't compare Godzilla to hillbillies.

Didn't mean to stir up such uproar! So soz. I suppose this only leaves the obstacle of rights. The ride itself sounds good, don't get me wrong but it'd cost a fortune for rights. DDid you know for Monsters Inc. Pixar tried to clear rights to Godzilla's roar for the voice of 'Tad' (That really big monster which ,"Takes three steps and he's there") but in the end they had to just use a funny chicken clip.

Well, Disney did have negotiations with Toho in the 80's when they were planning a Godzilla ride before, which was one of the early concepts for Fire Mountain. In the ride, you were racing against time as Godzilla was doing what he does best, trash Tokyo. At the end of the ride, you were to come face to face with Godzilla, via a lifesized animatronic G-head.

Isn't that Dollywood? Actually, that would be an interesting ride - kind of a true american folklore story. You could have a bayou ridethrough section, and go down a log flume. IT would be a canal boat ride. I don't get the UK food tasting pavilion comment?

This ride sounds a lot ot me like it belongs in Disney Quest. I know that is not the hotest place in the park, but it may be a good thing to get crowds in there.

Soz, my twisted sarcastic humor, I guess. I was just trying to get across that his was the bad part of the country e.g. Hillbillies are bad for USA and food is generally considered bad in UK.

BTW I think I should just end my arguement here for coherence sake!

And at the end you would be married to your sister! Kind of an effect like at the end of HM except they would drop in some hillbilly chicks instead of hitch-hiking ghosts and take your wedding photo.

Great idea for a ride! I love Godzilla. I have the original in VHS, and I'm looking for some of the movies in DVD form. The only thing I would do is adding Destroyer into the ride as one of the bad monsters.

Nice pics. I've loved Godzilla since I was a kid, and Destroyah is my favorite monster. Have you ever played Godzilla:Destroy All Monsters Melee? It's a sweet game.

P.S. When is Final Wars coming to theaters?

I'm going to change the ending slightly and remove King Ghidorah from the lineup, as Monster X will become a stronger version of Ghidorah in Godzilla Final Wars named Kaiser Ghidorah. In the new ending, as Godzilla fights Monster X, Monster X transforms into Kaiser Ghidorah, and a major battle begins between Godzilla and Ghidorah. As the battle rages, both Godzilla and Ghidorah are growing weaker. Then Ghidorah sees you in your ship and is about to smite you. Godzilla then uses his atomic breath to counter Ghidorah's lightning. As Godzilla is charging his beam to finish Ghidorah, the captain of the Atragon advises you to fire your weapons at Ghidorah to help Godzilla kill Kaiser Ghidorah once and for all. As the firepower of Godzilla's beam and your weapons hit Ghidorah, a mighty explosion occurs, and Ghidorah has been destroyed. Godzilla then heads off to sea, and the Godzilla theme plays as you exit the ride, and on the monitors are news coverage of the monster siege on Tokyo and you exit into the obligitory gift shop, selling all sorts of Toho kaiju stuff, along with a large screen television showcasing Godzilla movies in the middle.
