Hey gang,

Well I am here and one of the first places i headed for was my Ride at MGM. I was at the park on SUNDAY and poor GRM had so many problems. The first time I rode it we got stuck in the Alien section. There was a major back log of cars. When I go on they where only running one and as we pulled out into the first scean I could see them moving the second car into the mix.

For some reason we got all backed up at allien. We sat there for a good 10-15min and the cast member did a really bad job of covering for the problem. Once we got moving we creepped into the indy section and as we started to move into the tarzan section if you look up you could see the next cast member getting into position for the next car. We were that backed up. Anyhow once we got off the ride, I went back to the front to try to talk to a cast member and the ride was closed.

I came back a few hours latter and we were up and running...Almost. Again we got stuck in the cowboy area for a very short time. Our gangster on the second go around was Kick a.s. Then we made it to the final show (Movie) scean when our car would not move. We sat there for a good 5min or so while the Mech cast member came out to try to get us moving. We where stuck there so long that the movie clips started to play over again with us in there.

The cast members on the second break down were all over it and did an outstanding job of staying in there roles. It goes to show that the Cast Members turely make this and most of the attractions.

Well maybe tues or Wed I will be off to the casting center...

I agree, the cast members make the ride great. Most of them do a great job with their character, and they can really make you laugh if the want to. I can especially remember our "Mugsy," she an older lady (in her 50s or early 60s), she was amazing, especialy with that new york accent.

You know its funny you said that because that is exactly who the Gangster was on the first run thru. To be honest I have seen her before. When I was here back in Dec she was the first guide and she did an ok job. To day she was just not into to it. Now doing this day in and day out you have ups and downs but that is part of the job. She just for some reason do it for me as the gangster. The person that has that role or even the cowboy...person.. Really needs to sell that role and stay into there part. Even when things go worng. Again I enjoyed here back in DEC when she was the original guide but today left me flat.. I will be heading back several more times before I head back. Maybe she will be back on her game...

It is true that different CM's really make a difference, especially on a spieling attraction. But also try and remember if you are ever on an attraction when it breaks down to cut them a little slack because depending on the situation it can be fairly stressful for them. Trying to keep guests entertained and in their seats, contacting someone for help, and remembering to follow appropriate procedures. I have been on both sides of this equation and it is painful to watch a poor CM's deal with it badly, but it is also painful to be that CM trying to think on your feet and get everything done quickly and correctly.
