GMR Gangster Scene...

I'm so dissapointed...I just went on the GMR today, and the car in the Gangster scene didn't move...Now, it didn't look like it was temporary either, there was a black painted wall at the rear of the car where the "tunnel" starts...it's kind of sad that these moving set pieces from attractions eventually just stop working and never get really repaired...(Car in GMR, Crash in Test Track, Teradactyl in Dinosaur)...what are your thoughts...???

Maybe that wall allows them to work behind the scenes on it while the ride still operates?? Not sure, but work for me last time to.

It was sad...

It was really sad...when we pulled in to the scene the car was already out and in place, then when it came time for the gentelmen inside to perform, their lights faded up and the started shooting...as we started pulling into the western theme, when the car usually drives in reverse and out of the scene, their lights just fafded and the car sat there...

We were there in January and it wasn't working then and a friend of ours was there late May and it wasn't working. :veryconfu

When I went in Jan. of 2003, my first visit to WDW, the car didn't work either. I was confused as to what was supposed to happen, there was just a bunch of guns going off for what seemed like an insanely long time with nothing else going on! I kinda figured something was broken. I have it on video, I kept the camera on the car the whole time, thinking something cool would happen with it, and it didn't even move!! disappointing...

I was just on the ride this past Saturday and the car was working properly.

As for the crash effect on Test Track. The effect was never broken, but rather had to shut down due to timing issues.

I was there last month (june 04) and it didnt move..Although I have been there when it did....Now the Gangsters just talk and shoot..

The crash in TT moves alittle now...just jumps a bit like it has just hit the barrier right before you turn the corner...

The tyrradactyl(spelling) moved/ swooped too....

Technical problems sometimes really screw up the flow of the ride experiance... like the last time I was on ToT, last year, you could partially see the tracks in the horizontal part. Hopefully that is being kept painted by now.

So the bird on DINO doesn't move down towards the car?

Sorry to hear that, it should get fixed soon. The GMR has always been kept in tip-top shape. It shouldn't be long. It works everytime i go on.

I was there last Friday and the car didn't move either. I went on twice, and the first time we got the Western scene and the 2nd time we got the Gangster scene. I was waiting for it to move too as I've been on the ride LOADS.

I was just down in May and you are right, it does not move anymore and the tunnel is blocked off.

This happened after the last mini refurb, they changed the script as well.

I personaly think it is an enhancement. The car now looks like it is parked, with the guys waiting in it for the CM that comes from the stars to take over the tour.

I thought the lines were better and that the scene played out more clearly.

Funny thing is I have always gotten the gangster scene, I never even knew they had fire in the western scene until like a week ago.

Anyway, I wouldn't worry about the show quality on this one, I think it is just fine.

I thought the Tower of Terror did not use any kind of "track"...? Do you mean the natural "wear and tear" on the floor where the wheels of the elevator vehicle repetitively travel? It's otherwise a completely flat surface, void of track.
