Between witnessing that as a small child, and the wolf / marsh / creature thing (whatever it's called that's chasing him in the swamp) from The Neverending Story... I'm surprised that I don't have more mental issues as an adult than I already have.

All of this is reminding me of this sketch that Doug Walker, aka the Nostalgia Critic, performed at the beginning of his review of Labyrinth. In it, a couple is convinced to use 80's movies to quell their daughter's bratty behavior. According to the announcer, "The 80's were a time when all kids media wanted to do was scare the ____ out of you. (...) Most 80's films have a PG rating, but that was back when it actually stood for something. Nowadays, it stands for 'Practically G'."

Here's a video of the sketch (as well as the Labyrinth review):

You think that's bad? California's Great America had a terrifying commercial for The Grizzly Coaster that looked and sounded like Gmork..Makes animatronic Freddy Fazbear a turn for the worse!

See you in your nightmares....

It's one of those underated movies especially when it had Jim Henson Creatures and Will Vinton Claymation (California Rasins) for many of the visual effects...

Could you imagine a ride for this movie...It'd make the Original Snow White Scary Adventure a cake walk.
I can just imagine all of the entitled parents, with their terrified little snowflakes, sending angry letters to Disney about the Return To Oz ride...

I wouldn't call Maleficent a remake, per se. Pete's Dragon doesn't count, as that was a live-action film with some animated stuff, and there were quite a bit more remakes of live-action films in the 90s, including Herbie, The Parent Trap, The ****gy D.A., The Muppets Christmas Carol, Muppets Treasure Island, and possibly more I'm forgetting.

EDIT: Seriously, autocensor? It's a good thing Scooby-Doo isn't owned by Disney, or we'd never be able to discuss his best friend! Similarly, let's hope they don't install **** carpeting in any of the resorts.
A like for the censorship ;)
