Day 5: continued...Hollywood Studios

I just realized how long this report is taking me! So...if anyone is still reading.....

After our rest, we headed out. With the limited choices at Hollywood Studios for food we opted for McDonalds for dinner on the way in. It was the same as we could have gotten in the park, but cheaper, which was nice. AND we were the only ones in there!
We made it back into the park around 5:30pm and went straight to the Animation Academy.
P1140364.jpg

I didn't think we would make it in but the CM said we were the last ones.
We drew Stitch! I really liked the experience and my drawing actually looked like Stitch! Mom's on the other hand....:)
It was DARK and cloudy so we stopped and called my Dad to see if he could look up the weather for us. Sadly, neither my Mom nor I have smartphones but my Dad was nice enough to give us updates if necessary. I have mentioned before that my Mom had brain surgery about 3 years ago. When that happened both my Dad and I kind of "lost" a friend. She will NEVER be the same. So my Dad and I have gotten pretty close and it was nice to just talk to him for a little bit. I wish he could have come this time around but a mother daughter trip is nice too. Anyway, after deciding it was only cloudy and NOT rainy we made it just in time to see the Little Mermaid show! That theater is so cool! I think that show is wonderful and I am glad we got to see it. Then we headed over to the Muppets 3D movie. I LOVE the Muppets and I LOVE to look around the waiting area here! I always find something new and silly.

P1140367.jpg

After our laughs at the Muppet show we just walked around a little until it was time for our Toy Story fastpasses.
P1140369.jpg

And once again, I kicked my Mom's butt :D
P1140370.jpg

She did much better this time though!
The lines were getting long at this point. Toy Story was at 90 min when we went in this time but HS had EMH tonight so we figured that was why. The longest we had seen it posted all day was 25 min up until now, which was about 7:30pm.
I still hadn't ridden Rock 'n Rollercoaster and Mom doesn't do that so she sat and watched Mulch, Sweat and Shears while I made my way over to see Aerosmith.
I remember this being my 1st "real" rollercoaster on my first trip in 2000. I was blown away by all the details! Still am really, but that's Disney. Again, I ran into a cute little boy. It was his very first time on the ride and we sat next to each other in the very front row! While we were waiting he asked me about how many loops it had and what it does and stuff! He was so excited! It was so fun to ride with him!
While over there I couldn't pass up a short line at ToT! So I hopped on for my 3rd ride of the day!
I caught up with Mom and we decided to wait for the second show of Fantasmic! and I NEEDED an ice cream ;)

My brownie sundae and Mom had and ice cream sandwich

We sat right in the middle section for Fantasmic! and really enjoyed it! I didn't notice anything wrong at all and enjoyed to the show!

P1140392.jpg

We had EMH after but were so pooped we didn't stay for long.
I am so happy to say I rode ToT two more times tonight bringing the grand total to 5 times!! LOVE THAT RIDE AND CANNOT WAIT TO GET BACK THERE AGAIN!!!
Walked over to try out Star Tours and gotta say, I was unimpressed. It actually made me kind of sick but I didn't want to be there without trying it. Tried it, may not ride again.

Day 6: Epcot...our last day :(

Good evening! Welcome to my final day of my trip report. Sad.

So! We started off today even EARLIER than all the others! We had an 8:05am ressie at Kona Cafe for some Tonga Toast!
We parked at the Magic Kingdom, were one of the first maybe 10 cars there, and walked up to the entrance of the Polynesian! This was only my second resort to visit so I was excited!!
P1140393.jpg

The grounds are just b-e-a-utiful!!
P1140394.jpg

P1140395.jpg

We checked in and were seated pretty quickly, the restaurant was MAYBE half full. Our server Maria was awesome! She was so informative and visited just enough, not too much and certainly did not ignore us!
I couldn't wait to try this Tonga Toast! Which we both ordered :p
P1140396.jpg

OH MY GOSH!!! Possibly the best thing I ever ate! It tastes like a churro! FANTASTIC!!
I put on the ressie that we were celebrating Mom's birthday(which was only 2 weeks after we were there) She got a cupcake at our lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern but not button. This morning Maria brought out a cupcake (on a beautiful decorated plate!), a button, and a balloon!!
P1140397.jpg

We were stuffed! But we are dessert people and couldn't say no to a cupcake! This one was delicious! Nothing like the dry blah cupcake earlier in the week.
P1140398.jpg

Next we hit the monorail over to the TTC and then to Epcot. I am SO glad I made this decision! We had fun riding the monorail and saw alot we would have never seen!
It was September 11th, which I forgot actually since I had been on vacation for a week. It was nice to see Disney remembering with their flags at half staff.

First, we were heading for the line for Spaceship Earth when I spotted someone I never met before! So we hoped out of line and went to meet Daisy!
P11404051.jpg

We matched!
THEN we rode Spaceship Earth. Walked right on!
P1140404.jpg

Let me tell ya, our "futures" were hilarious! We laughed so hard at the end of that ride! Kind of woke us up from our Kona comas.
P1140407.jpg

P1140408.jpg

Then we headed over to Soarin' where we were pleasantly surprised to see only a 15 min wait! Since it was so short, we opted not to grab a fastpass and just get one on the way out if we wanted. My Mom grew up in the Napa Valley and loves this ride! When it was filmed they even went over my Uncle's house! I could tell that the film needed some work though.
P1140410.jpg

We went over to Living with the Land and enjoyed a nice boat ride. The stuff they grow in there is so cool!
We then went to visit Nemo and Dory (Mom's fave) in The Living Seas!
P1140411.jpg

This queue is SO long! Especially when it is a walk on! We loved our little ride in our clam mobile and walked around a little. We mostly liked watching the Manatees eat. Cool stuff.

We needed some caffeine so we wanted to try out Club Cool. Tested some and found most not very enjoyable ;) Grabbed some real Coca-Colas and then went on to Figment. I think its a cute little ride that just needs some love. We enjoy the area outside the ride though. All the little interactive stuff is fun!
Next we did Captain E.O. really just to say I did it. I was a little curious. The CM made it very clear that we were not to move when in the pre-show. Very clear. It was a little forceful and almost rude. Of course people still didn't listen which is why he was saying the things the way he did.
OK. Captain E.O. is so strange. Strange. I wasn't sure what to expect, just Michael Jackson and I assumed music, but this was not it. Who thought of that?! I guess it was cool when it was new? But I'm glad I can say I did it.
FOOD was now calling me so we headed for Mexico! I wanted some nachos.
P1140414.jpg

Lucky us, the CM gave us free churritos because it was Mom's bday! SCORE! It made me wonder what would have happened if she had the button before today!
P1140413.jpg

These were delicious but I forgot to mention that in my impatience to try the Tonga Toast this morning, I burned the top of my mouth. BAD. It hurt! And I wanted to eat today! Nachos were not great feeling in my mouth but tasted awesome! And the churros, WOW!! Just WOW!
Of course we explored Mexico a bit, rode the ride. I wanted to try a margarita but my mouth hurt so bad I wondered if the alcohol would hurt so I didn't.:( Next time.
P1140415.jpg

P1140416.jpg

By this time we were tired. Every other day we went back to the room to rest but today we were parked at the Magic Kingdom and I thought it would take too much time so....we rode Ellen's Energy Adventure.
HA! Its a long, pretty dark ride and it was cool. We didn't ACTUALLY sleep but given just a little bit wider seat I would have.:)
We walked back up to Spaceship Earth because after this we were going to spend the rest of the day back in World Showcase.
Again we cracked up at our future.

We made our way back through Mexico and I met Donald!
P11404241.jpg

By this time it had been a few hours since we had lunch so it was time for a snack. We stopped at Norway and Mom got a sandwich with apple slices on it. It was pretty good!
I had the schoolbread which I wasn't sure about but the cute blonde boy behind the counter convinced me :p
I am NOT ashamed to say that I am 25 and single and happy to flirt or just smile at any and all cute boys from other countries :D
P1140426.jpg

Sadly, I really did not like the schoolbread. The custard inside was delicious, the bread was not.
We rode Maelstrom and found some more blonde boys! Ok, enough boys, but really that is what I remember about Norway ;)
P1140428.jpg

We slowly walked around and stopped here and there.
P1140429.jpg

Haha Mom!

P1140431.jpg

P1140432.jpg

P1140435.jpg

This guy was fun to watch! And the little girl volunteer was really hamming it up! Perfect for the show!
We stopped and watched the Fife & Drums at the American Adventure. They said the pledge and sang God Bless America and said thank you to all had served and mentioned 9/11. It was neat to see and hear everyone standing around saying the pledge together.

And we continued on...

I met Marie for the first time!
P11404461.jpg

Then went to get in line for Sleeping Beauty.
When I go to the front of the line, the woman behind me kept telling her kids they were next. And I politely kept trying to tell her, No, actually I am next. So of course when it was MY turn the kids ran right past me to see Sleeping Beauty! I was standing there having a conversation with this woman and she acted like I wasn't even there! I've said it before I will say it again, It doesn't matter that I am 25, your kids DO NOT have the right to cut in front of me in line!! The photopass CM made sure I got my turn and even apologized for that guest, right in front of her!
ANYWAY
I met Sleeping Beauty and she was impressed with how far my horses had to go :)
P1140447.jpg

Then we went over to the UK and looked for Alice and Mary Poppins. I found neither but did find Pooh and Tigger!
P11404491.jpg

And my favorite pic from the whole trip!!
P1140450.jpg

P1140451.jpg

We wandered some more and made our way to Japan where we had Teriyaki chicken for dinner.
And then on to Germany to meet Snow White.
P11404541.jpg

We then sat on a bench and just sat. For a while. Talked to a nice couple who had retired to FL and just became annual passholders. It was our last hours in the world and we were so happy just to sit and look :)
P1140455.jpg

P1140456.jpg

We walked to the front to get some photopass pics and then back to France to have dessert and wait for Illuminations.
P1140458.jpg

P1140459.jpg

We found a seat in France right by the water and enoyed our treats. I had Creme Brulee and Mom had some chocolate cake.
It was a wonderful day and I am so glad we were able to just sit and enjoy. Illuminations is my least favorite nighttime show but I did enjoy it. Especially since we didn't have to push through people or try to see over heads.
P1140460.jpg

Our last moments in the World.
We made it to the monorail and took a nice ride back to the TTC and our car. We slept for the last time in our room at All Star Music and I shed a little tear.
The next day was possibly the LONGEST day ever. We were both so tired we had to stop often to switch so that we didn't fall asleep driving!
I will say, my Dad and the dogs were so happy when we got home!

Overall, this trip was everything I could have asked for. I tried lots of new things-Disney resort, some new restaurants, shows, and did I mention FOOD?!
After this I can't wait to be daring and try some more food. I want to be able to take more time and look in little shops and explore new areas. I want to stay at new hotels and have new experiences. Someday I will have a "real" job and be able to go more often.
Thanks for reading me report! It was fun to relive as I posted!

What an awesome trip, just you and your mom!! Sounds nice and relaxing, and easy, what with only 2 people. Must've been nice to just wander and do what you both pleased :)
