Give a Day, Get a Day - how can you check if an organization is "accredited"?

I volunteer for a particular organization. Is there a way to go online and search to see if they are part of Disney's program? I don't want to search my area and have dozens of organizations come up and then have to go through page after page - I want to search by organization.

Anyone tried this?

No. I know this because the organization I am employed by is involded in this program, and let me just say the response to this program has been overwhelming but there seem to be some flaws in the program such as letting people signup multiple times for the same and or different activities which are all under the same organizations umbrella. The best way to find if your organization is a handson partner is to go to their site, handsonnetwork.org and towards the bottom on the right is a search and you can put in the city, state, and zip put in the zip of the ORGANIZATION, not YOUR zip, unless of course they are the same. That should make things a little faster for you, but like I said the program is great BUT people do not read the agreement stating that you only get one disney ticket per person per year no matter how many times you volunteer.

I also volunteer for a charity and wanted to see if they were involved. I couldn't find a way to search for them and I didn't see them in the general search of the area. I just asked the people who run the charity if they were involved. You might have better luck just going straight to the source.

I'm having an impossible time signing up for something. Everything has zero volunteers needed every time I search. I know a lot of people are having this problem. I guess that's good though, that so many people are signing up. :)

The problem though is that Disney really has no screening process. For example I had a guy sign-up and I sent him our application, thought it was odd that he was signing up by himself but just overlooked that, he said he had no record and I checked it like we do for any volunteer and anyways it turned out he had a record a mile long and one of them is attempting to rob a bank and I can't use him, because we have lots of money just sitting around!

I would think attempting to rob a bank would prevent him from volunteering at many other places also.

Isn't it posted on the Disney website what the charities are? I do lots of stuff for Children's Miracle Network and they aren't included. Or, they weren't listed at the start of the program.
