Gift Card Question...

I was thinking of picking up a few gift cards for my upcoming trip but I am a little concerned. Is there anywhere the you CAN'T use them (other than the obvious tips)? Has anyone used them? What were your experiences?

We used them at many restaurants last trip, including places at DTD. The only place that did not accept them was Kimonos at the Swan. They said it was because "we're not Disney". Yet they accept the TIW card! Go figure.

Hi Kings&giants, Please let me know how the gift cards work you for you. I plan on doing the same for our next trip this summer. Thanks

They worked GREAT!!!! We had a bunch with us, all different amounts and I used them almost everywhere (usually had one a day with me). I ended up not using them for tips but somone else said they charge the tip to the room, then use the gift card to pay the balance. I don't know if you will be traveling with kids, but my boys liked having their own "credit cards" as they called them. While we were there my older son lost a tooth - so Tinker Bell (the Tooth Fairy lets her handle lost teeth in Disney) even left him a $20 gift card under his pillow! ;)

Thanks so much for letting me know!! Yes, I have 2 boys who would love the idea of using "credit cards". Love the tooth fairy idea! Glad you had great time!

I buy a at least a $25 Disney gift card added to my weekly grocery shopping, sometimes a $50 if my grocery list is short. The fuel perks are an added bonus. I also save change (I'm quite rapid about it, actually!) and every time I get $100 in change, I buy a $100 gift card. I do this even if I don't have a trip planned in the near future; I know I will be going to the World eventually, and it's a great way to sock away money that can't be used for anything else. I've used them to pay for a trip, and I've never had a problem using them anywhere in the parks.

Great idea!!! I may have to start this tradition at my house too!!!
