Giant teen tour groups are back

I recently encountered a group from Dios de la Janeiro, the capital of Brazil, whom I easily recognized by their accent, being somewhat of an expert in dialects of Latin myself. They tried to push in front of me on my favourite ride, Aladdin’s Magic Carpets. But being 6’4, 450lbs I use these groups for bowling practice. They flew through the air in all directions. ‘Who’s Aladdin’s Magic Carioca now?’ I yelled triumphantly. They sweared as they landed, cussing me out in their native Lusophone. However, having lived in Lusitania for a few years I speak that as well as Brazilian and Portuguese. And made them hand over their Liberty Belle Lightning Lane passes to me as payback.

I have to be honest with you. I have been there many times and never ever have seen a giant teen, let alone a group of them.

Large teen groups are annoying no matter where they are from. The teen cheerleading groups from the USA can be just as annoying - plus I understand the language! Haha.

Believe me, I certainly wanted to while working sometimes when they wanted to pick up four or more packages at once... I understand it's cheaper to buy things here than in Brazil (and sometimes Argentina), but you do not have to buy so much at once...

Of all the problems I have with WDW right now, large teen groups (or large groups of teens) ranks about #291.

Brazil is geographically huge(is it 5th largest area among countries??) and dialect as well as language is heavily influenced by region as opposed to actual country borders.

Thanks for taking all the heat for that, as I was about to ask where all those Teen Giants came from as a joke, but apparently for most this is a very serious problem. Why I don't know as I have never had a problem with tour groups at all, yes they made some noise, but they are teenagers and could very well be doing a lot worse things than have a good time with their friends in a place that is supposed to make people happy. My memory might not be what it once was, but I think there were a number of times that I acted a tad on the loud and crazy side as a teen. I just can't remember it. That's my story and I'm sticking with it!

I think the main problem is the fact that most don't seem to understand English. This often results in them talking (or shouting or chanting) over the dialogue in the attractions due to it not meaning anything to them. Obviously to those who want to enjoy the attraction as it was designed to be enjoyed (without shouting or chanting), this can ruin the enjoyment for others and that's where the annoyance comes in.

Me being a regular annual visitor for many years means I've ridden nearly everything numerous times and so on the rare occasion I've witnessed this it's not ruined my whole day etc as I've experienced the attraction before. However if I hadn't and had just waited 2 hours in a queue then I can see how I wouldn't be as 'whatever' about it.

I agree, but instead of being upset with the tour groups, I am upset with Disney for catering to a few at the expense of so many others. They have done that for years and have always defaulted to the offender instead of the offended. They look at those groups and large hunks of money all in one place and their pockets are made of picking. But, it doesn't stop it from being annoying to other "paying" guests.

I had almost never heard that problem in the attractions themselves and the one time it did was in Country Bears and it was seasoned WDW groupies that felt the need to stomp their feet and clap their hands while I was trying to hear the words to the funny songs that were being shown. I really wanted to scream and I can assure you those doing it were not from Brazil and were good ole folks from Florida or close by. I heard the chanting and noise from the tour groups outside the attractions often but never when part of the show was happening. It was just when they were in formation headed for an attraction. For that, I just figured they were having fun and proud of their heritage.

I have to disagree with the language situation. Unlike this country, other places teach English at an early age. Even if some don't understand I believe the most have at least a working knowledge of English that those that can't can be told by others what is going on.
