I was reading the thread on Caseys and someone mentioned Giadornos pizza. I looked it up and the pizza and prices look good. Do they deliver if you are staying at a resort on Disney property? If not how far away are they?

Sorry, I don't know if they deliver but I can confirm their stuffed pizza is fantastic. They also have excellent Caesar salad, sandwiches etc. There are three locations within 20 minutes or so of WDW.

The closest Giordano's to WDW is about a mile north of the Crossroads shopping plaza close to DTD:

Giordano's Lake Buena Vista - (407) 239-8900

Unfortunately, having eaten at the original in Chicago, the one in Orlando absolutely sucks. It tastes like frozen pizza. It is absolutely horrid and I would never suggest anyone eat there.

I think it depends on which resort you are staying at.

I remember reading a year or so ago that at least one of their locations (lake buena vista I think) was sited for multiple health code violations. Personally, I would do a little bit of research into that before eating there.

As a native Chicagoan, I refuse to eat pizza outside of Chicagoland, because it's never done right. The Giordano's pizzerias here in Chicagoland are fantastic. Hey, every city has its specialty foods, and to eat them outside of the area is to do so with caution.

ugh. I am right there with you.

And if you think the Giordano's are awful outside of Chicagoland...then I probably shouldn't even mention the Pizzaria Uno (or should I sau Uno's Chicago Grill?)

It's sad that the chains admit they don't even use the same recipes.

I was about to post about the glories of Giodarnos. :slurp:

...but apparently I'm not qualified to, since I've only eaten at the restaurants in Chicago. That's a shame if the one in Orlando is inferior!

And in the interest of not threadjacking, Disney allows deliveries don't they? It seems I recall having called in a pizza before. I'm not 100% sure to be honest...

Hey wait a minute...

ALRIGHT, Hold the phone here.. We ate at Giadornos in March.. and it was OUTSTANDING.. we drove to the one in Kissimmee.. BUT, it was beyond belief... as GOOD AS DOWN TOWN CHICAGO.. Absolutely...

and it makes the old Mill and some of these other imitators look like fools..

My wife and I bought a large.. and we each ate two slices at the restaurant... and then we had the rest in the room for leftovers.. and that replaced buying a whole meal.. substancially cut down our food cost..
if one $28 pizza gives you FOUR MEALS.. two meals for two people, that lowered our WDW food cost by a DAY.. easily...

so don't be fooled my friend .. this is SUPERIOR PIZZA at ITS BEST..

and it will save you money easily in the long run..
we just didn't know if they would Deliver to Pop Century..

but WE WILL DO IT AGAIN.. on our next trip...

Heck , I will do it again on my next trip to Gurney..

and we put two other familys on the same page.. one was from Indy, and the other from Chicago.. both were really happy to hear about the place.. since they didn't know it existed..
