Getting to WL after Hoop-de-do

We have booked the 9.30 showing of Hoop-de-do during our stay in April. We will be staying at WL but whats the best way to get back at the end of the show (around 11.00ish)? Can we walk? Should we get a bus to DTD and then back to the WL? Should we get a taxi?

Also, whilst were on the transport theme. Do the buses /boats / monorails run till the end of the Extra Magic hours in the evening?

Thanks

You should still be able to get the boat back as they will run to about an hour after EMH. For goodness sake, stay away from DTD...it will add an eternity to your trip.

I would ask the boat driver what time water taxi service ends when they drop you off at FW for the Hoop-Dee-Doo show. I think the smaller boats end service about 11 p.m. If you should chose to walk, I would carry a small flashlight and walk the paved excercise trail from FW to the WL. A great way to walk off all the food from Hoop-Dee-Doo. Show up hungry!!! Have a great time, and hoop it up for me also!!!

It changed as of 11/16/07.

Wilderness Lodge is served by two motor cruisers that go between WL and Magic Kingdom (marked with a red flag) from 8:30 a.m. until about one hour after MK closes.

Fort Wilderness Campground is served by one motor cruiser and one motor launch that go between FWC and MK (marked with a green flag) from 8:30 a.m. until about 1 hour after MK closes.

There is also a Bay Lake loop served by two motor launches (marked with a blue flag) that start running at 6:45 a.m. This route serves Contemporary, WL and FWC. The motor launches run clockwise from 6:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and then run counter-clockwise from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

The route of MK to WL to FWC back to MK no longer exists.

Thanks for the information CleveRocks. I believe the green flag route was red before they changed it the last time. That should make it a whole lot less crowded without the stop at FW.

That makes so much more sense. I'm glad they changed it.

When we went to the hoop de doo this past October for the 9:30 show, we were staying at POR and because the MK was already closed, they had buses waiting at FW to take us back to our resort.

You got WL and FW mixed up. The campground has the two cruisers, the lodge only gets one. That is the major flaw with this new plan. In all honesty, we need a fourth cruiser. It's not fair to lodge guests, who pay a considerable amount of money, to get the short end of the stick boatwise.

Also, cruisers now run until the park is completely clear; however, we still tell guests the last boat leaves one hour after the park closes.

That's the idea, but like I said, without a fourth cruiser it isn't perfect. Cruisers hold 120 guests, Launches only hold 39 and strollers/wheelchairs must be folded (which sucks if your children are sleeping).

Hmm...glad I popped into this thread. I was always curious about the WL boat transportation. It's our first time staying at the Lodge.

Oh, I need a suggestion while we're on the topic...we have an ADR at Chef Mickey's then we were going to head over to MK for MVMCP. Now, getting from dinner to the MK is no problem (obviously) but I'm wondering the best route to get to the Contemp. from the WL?

You can take the Blue Flag Line which runs till 11:30ish. Those are Launches.
