Getting to WDW help!

I live in a crazy part of the country where there are NO direct flights to MCO (Orlando airport) anywhere close. I am willing to drive, but not too far, if the deal is good!
Does anyone have a great source for cheap airline tickets?
What about rental cars?
*sidenote--we do have an airport where I live but it is a regional airport that only flys to 2 locations, DFW and ATL. Pretty much any ticket from here is EXPENSIVE.

Keep in mind that parking @ major airports can get quite pricey. I am just over 2 hours from the NY City airports and direct flights to about anywhere, but will pay at least $100 more per week for parking plus the mileage, gas and tolls to get there. Plus getting through security in the larger airports can get a little tedious and sometimes strenuous. I would prefer to take a connecting flight from a local airport than deal with the hassles of a major metro airport.

To get a direct flight, we have to drive 3 hours to either Charlotte or Atlanta. That's one of the reasons that we drive it, by the time we add in the wait time at the airport and the time it takes to use DME (depending on the arrival/departure time and which resort)...it's just as quick to drive it and have our own car. If we tried to fly out of Augusta and then a layover in one of the above, it would be a bit longer.

Even parking at non major airports can get crazy. I flew out of Tulsa, left my car, was gone for 4 days...total parking bill was $60. Crazy!
I am hoping that where ever we decide to fly out of, we can get someone to drive us there and pick us up!

I LOVE having my own car (or a car for that matter) while in the World. It makes things easier, in my opinion.
