Hi all,

We will be in WDW in Sept with our best friends and their 2 adults sons. :sohappy:. The two Heretics, I mean Sons, :animwink: want to head over to Universal for a day or 2 of our 12 day trip. Without a rental car, what are the transportation options for getting from Beach Club to Universal?

thanks,

Kevin, Mona, Brenda, Steven, Paul and Allen

Without a rental car, I think a taxi will be your only option.

And demand a good taxi company from the front desk. Demand the best and do not let up. Don't call on your own. If the front desk screws up, scream bloody murder. There are a few terrible taxi companies in Orlando but many are good... Demand, demand, demand the best.

You're going to be there for 12 days and you're not renting a car?? I mean I guess you'll save a lot of money that way, but there is so much to see in the Orlando area besides just WDW. I would re-think that if I were you. Maybe rent a car for a portion of the trip.

You can call Mears the night before you want to go. They will give you a schedule of what their pick-up times are (it is pretty flexible). You go down to the valet area at BC and the shuttle will pick you up. It's ususally a van. One to two hours before you want to leave US, call Mears again and they will give you return times. We've done it a number of times from BC and BWV to US and to Sea World. The round trip fare is about $20 (plus tip). It's just the two of us so it's not bad. We did a cab once from Sea World and that was about $30 one way plus tip.

do you remember how late they would pick up? i'm going with my girlfriend in the end of august and we wanted to do some clubs in citywalk. i was thinking of doing Mears but I'm not sure if they'll get us around 1am? I would definitely rather do that then get a cab and head back to Disney in the middle of the night.
