getting to the poly for breakfast

I have a breakfast character dining at Ohana's for 8:15. Am I going to have trouble getting there using the WDW transportation from POR? I know the busses start a hour earlier than the park opens and the park opens at 9:00. I was planning on getting on the MK bus and then taking the monorail over to the poly.... Do you think I need to change my time to a little bit later?

There should be a character breakfast bus that starts running before that. Check with the front desk as to when it exactly it runs, but last trip while out running at 6:30, I saw buses running then.

Depending on who else is on the bus, they may drop you off at the Poly direct, or maybe just at the MK. They usually ask you where you are going when you get on and figure out where they need to go.

You will be fine with the time you chose. The buses will be out early enough for you to get there using the plan you have (to MK then Monorail). We had 8:30 reservations for Kona and the buses were running @ 7:30 which is when we got on. We arrived before 8:15 so you'll be good.

Have fun and enjoy.

The one false rumor that just won't die is that buses don't start running until 1 hour before the parks open.

Buses start running at 6:30 a.m. Every day. Regardless of what time each individual park opens. And the resort monorail starts running at 7 a.m. So in other words, you'll have no trouble getting to 'Ohana for an 8:15 a.m. ADR.

Since MK won't be open yet, you can even ask if the bus driver could drop you off directly at Polynesian. The bus driver is permitted to do this at his/her discretion ... if the bus is packed, then don't count on it, but if it's relatively empty you could get lucky.

Above, I said you could ask the bus driver. Actually, let me rephrase that. Personally, I wouldn't ask. I'd mention to the bus driver that I have an ADR at 'Ohana and let him/her decide if he/she wants to spread a little pixie dust, rather than putting him/her in the uncomfortable position of maybe having to say no to you.

THANKS ERIC! I did read the buses start an hour before the park opens and then I started to panic! I think I just might have to ask the bus driver about dropping us off at the poly.. maybe someone from POR will need to do the same... Then I can take the monorail to the magic kingdom....
