Getting to MK from AK - travel time/best way

We are attending MNSSHP in October but planning on going to AK on the day of the party because AK closes at 6 and we only have 5-day Magic Your Way Base tickets. MNSSHP starts at 7 at MK and we'd like to try to get there before 7 to get in line for character meets. What's the fastest way to get to MK from AK and how much total time should we allow to get to MK?

As @Tinkerkelle said, you can enter the MK as early as 4 pm with your party ticket. Many guests enter MK before 7 pm in order to get in line for the meet and greets. The best way to get from AK to MK is taking the direct MK bus from the AK bus depot. The bus will drop you right in front of MK, no need to transfer to another vehicle and no long walk. I agree with @CAPTAIN HOOK, the longest time you should plan on from leaving AK to entering MK is an hour, but it will likely be less time than that.

For the character meet n greets, if you wish to meet the 7 Dwarfs or Jack and Sally you'll have to line up at 5:30 the latest if you don't want to waste a good amount of your party time waiting in a long line. I would try to leave AK by 3:30 or 4:00 if you wish to line up for the extremely popular characters early.

Though if you use Uber (or any taxi, really), they'll have to drop you at either the TTC or an MK hotel since there is no drop-off directly at the MK.

Typically for MK they drop us off right where the bus depot ends. Basically just across from the contemporary security gate. At Epcot they take you to the drop off as well

That's actually a very unsafe practice. The road going into the bus depot is for Disney vehicles only, and that intersection is a very busy one with bus traffic coming in and out of the MK depot, Cast Members coming and going from the MK cast lots north of the parks and traffic coming and going from the Contemporary.

It's not designed for, nor safe for, cars to pull over and let people out on the side of the road and should be highly discouraged. (If my Uber driver wanted to have me get out there, I'd refuse and probably submit a poor review for the practice)
