Getting the countdown message . . .

Thought I'd post this idea as I haven't seen this before. We hit our 90 day mark last Friday and our youngest is commemorating our countdown this year on a daily basis. She made a paper chain and each day we remove one link. For those with younger children, this is a fun/cheap craft activity and let's them visually gauge just how close they are to leaving.

That's a great idea. We are surprising my daughter and will be there on her birthday. So I will do one for her birthday but in reality it will be for the trip as well

We love doing a countdown!! Because my son is older (now 16), we like to take nieces & nephews who are still young. It's so much more fun with kids who still believe in the "magic". (my 16 y/o is too "cool" for that). Anyway, we always do them up countdown calendars to mark off the days. I include dates when I plan to make dining reservations, etc. I also put for the week we'll be there, which park on which day.

I also try to send them "letters" from Mickey saying "I'll see you next month.... in 2 weeks, next week, a few days," etc. They get a kick out of getting their own personal letters!
