see how much photoshop elements costs... it's a stripped down 'friendlier' version of photoshop that is bundled with some digital cameras.

as far as free versions, adobe.com might have downloadable trials - but that's about it unless you're meaning 'illegaly free' which i can't help you with...

it says "elements" costs over $80 but i was reluctant about that because i didnt want to get a version that was too scaled down that only had things that i could also do w/ microsoft picture it ect... how much is elements scaled down from the full version and does it stil offer more / better features than other photo editing programs?

I got my copy for about 450 as oppsed to 600... Not that big a difference, but heck, saving 100 dollars. full version too, PC, 7.0.1.

((SEARCH FOR "ADOBE PHOTOSHOP" AT www.epinions.com , WHERE THEY WILL LIST CHEAPEST PRICES))

I must say, though, so far it has been worth every penny...

(although, don't tell anybody, I didn't buy it with my money! )

:D

Elements isn't that scaled down at all. The interface is different but out of all the things I use Photoshop for (and I'm an architecture student so I use photoshop a lot and for many things) the only thing I've found missing in elements is the ability to group layers together and for all I know it just could be in a different spot in elements.

While i most certanly do NOT condone spftware piracy... well... You can find it in the same way you can find MP3s. Its very easy to find on most P2P file sharing software.
