Getting from Coronado to All-Star?

Hi there. We're going to Disneyworld in April as part of a Grand Gathering. Some of our party is staying at the All-Star Movies and our family will be staying at the Coronado Springs. (Since we have a 14 yr old, 8 yr old and 1 yr old, we needed more breathing room!)

Is there a way to get from the Coronado to the All-Star resorts? My understanding is that the Coronado has its own bus and doesn't stop at other resorts.

In order to get from Coronado to the All Star Movies you will need to take a bus to one of the theme parks, water parks, or Downtown Disney and then transfer to either an All Star Movies bus or an All Star Resort bus. The All Star Resort bus makes stops at all 3 All Star Resorts, and of course the All Star Movies bus stops at the All Star Movies.

I believe the quickest way to get from Coronado to All Star Movies is to take a bus from Coronado to either the Animal Kingdom or Blizzard Beach and then transfer to an All Star Resort bus.

You have the choice of bus transfers at the parks or DD, or cabs.

During the early morning hours, you can not use DD - the busses do not start running there until later in the morning before lunchtime.

But you might also be surprised early morning that you can't really transfer at the park either -- busses drop off their loads at random stops to expedite movement to the park, and often don't even stop at the assigned bus stop.

Rule of thumb -- before 9 am: taxi......between 9 and 6: transfer at the parks......6pm onward through Downtown Disney bus transfer or taxi

Like others have said there is no great way to get between those 2 resorts. The quickest option is a cab. Next to that is actually walking as there is a sidewalk between CS and the All Stars but it is quite a hike. Lastly the closest park is AK and you could take a bus there then another back to Movies. Your best bet is to just meet at the parks.

Do not go to DtD to transfer to a resort, take the first park bus that shows up and transfer at a park. Its much easier. For All Stars, try for AK or DHS.

That's not true. There are plenty of buses headed to DD in the mornings...Maybe not 6am early, but when I'm waiting for a bus at 8:30am, I see several that are assigned to DD.

DD busses are scheduled to start running from the resorts around 8:30 am. This almost never happens and you an expect the first one to run at 9 am or later.

For all intents and purposes, it makes it worthless for any morning transfers, since it's faster to meet your party at whichever park you are heading to.

That's some good advice, Ron. Hadn't really thought about it before, but you are right... there are many times in the morning when our bus drops us off at a random station at a park and then leaves immediately.

Car. Get a rental car instead of relying on the bus system. This is the only way to make it easy to get from resort to resort in a reasonable amount of time.

If you don't want the car, the choices from Coronado to All-Stars are as others have laid out. Blizzard Beach is actually your quickest bus transfer point, followed by DAK. I would not recommend bussing to Epcot, MK, or DHS for your transfer as the added travel time will probably be more than waiting for a DAK/BB bus. That will certainly be true with respect to MK buses.

There is a walking path between Coronado and All-Stars. It's quite pleasant, but if you're in a hurry at all, not a good choice. You could split the difference by taking a bus to Blizzard Beach, and walking from there, but that's probably a little complicated.

Cabs are an option, but if you're going to do that several times during your trip, I'd lean towards the rental car.

If you were planning on meeting at the All-Stars just to have breakfast together or prepare for the parks, your best bet is to just meet at the parks.
