I want to ask my GF to marry me. I heard that WDW will help you out with an engagement. Is this true? who do I need to contact to set up the magical moment?

Contact guest relations in the park you want to do it in. My suggestion is to do it where a photopass photographer can get pics of it. If you let that person know discreetly, they will probably make a big deal over it. it happened for me and it was an experience your gf will never forget.

Personally, I'd be cautious about asking Disney to help. I've seen too many threads of users posting about how Disney screwed something or it let it slip with the girl standing right there it was an engagement trip, etc...

Heck, they couldn't even get a surprise birthday dessert straight *twice* for my wife and I.

I'm sure there's plenty of happy ending stories out there, but just be aware things may not go as planned.

Me... I just carried the ring in my pocket all day and waited for the right moment, which happened to be when we were relaxing on our Boardwalk balcony at the end of the day.

Good luck!

My husband proposed to me at dinner in cinderellas castle during the fireworks. He just told them when we checked in what he was doing and it was wonderful.

My advice would be to not involve any third party. Come up with something yourself, it will be unique, and most importantly of all, the cat will not be accidentally let out of the bag ahead of time! Good luck!! :)

Let Disney in on as little as possible....that is my advise to you! They will botch it up! They did it to me twice in the same day! And whatever you do DO NOT PUT IT ON YOUR RESERVATION! Letting Disney in on it just gives x amount of people the opportunity to spoil the surprise for you!

Keep it to yourself, and if you're planning to do it in the park and want a Photopass person to help you out, tell him what you're planning to do right before you do it so he can help set up the pictures correctly and spend some extra time with you afterwards to get some good shots.

Good Luck!

Don't mention it on your reservations or ADRs. There is a chance the CM reading it will think it just happened and congratulate you.
However, the services provided by Fairy Tale Weddings are much better organized and discreet. (They cost a bit more for that reason)
The photopass photographer is a good suggestion, actually used that one myself. : )

It's funny, my girlfriend who has been to Disney just about every year for the past 15 years or so, told me that she'd never want me to propose to her at Disney. So this is something I won't have to worry about. Good luck though.

You can certainly plan something yourself but if something comes up, go with it. If your gf loves attention and being "in the spotlight", doing it on Main St doesn't get better.

My plan was to do it in the Rose Garden as I am a very shy and private person. This changed however by a situation that presented itself on a silver platter. I had a plan to have a Photopass photographer take some private shots in the rose garden as my (now) fiancee had no idea I had the ring so she thought it was going to be romantic.

That all changed as we were taking pics on Main St while we were on our way to the rose garden. The PP person was having fun with our group(my fiancee's family) with silly pics, etc... He had my fiancee's brother and sister in law do a "one knee" proposal and having her act surprised (they've been married for 20 yrs) so it was all silly. He looked around and said to my fiancee and I...."now you two are next". We were all laughing and when my fiancee put her bag down near her Mom, I walked over to the PP person and showed him the ring box discreetly and said "let's do it for real". His eyes got as big as saucers and had us face each other and told her to close her eyes. When she did, he said for me to do it as well (but then said not to in a whisper). He went to get two balloon vendors to stand behind us. It was at this point I made the mistake of looking up and seeing about 200-300 people watching everything (CMs were roping off for the 3pm parade so it almost looked set up). Like I said, I'm very shy and private so this terrified me but it was set up on a silver platter and had to take it. He told her to open her eyes and I got down on one knee as as they say the rest is history.

The PP cast member was amazing and made the event something no one will ever forget. He couldn't have been better and all this happened in 2-3 minutes but it felt like an eternity. The buttons he gave us made my fiancee glow because then everyone said congratulations all week long.

Just remember to enjoy it and don't force it or something will go wrong.

My husband proposed to me in the MK but when we got back to the room there were rose petals all over the floor and in a heart shape on the bed. There were beautiful flower arrangements and a gift basket with wine, champagne and choclates. He set it up through the Disney florist dept. they did everything while we were out for the day. He only hit one problem since they were delivering alcohol to the room someone had to show ID at front desk (to ensure 21 or older). Well the desk left a message on the in room phone and I got it. So I was baffled as to why someone would be sending us alcohol on our vacation lol (but still had no clue).

Good luck and Congrats! Getting engaged is such an exciting time!

I carried the ring with me for the first day 1/2 until I figured out where to do it. I did it right outside of Canada next to the lagoon while walking to dinner in the evening. It was completely spontaneous and she loved every second of it. I didnt care about getting them involved, do it the way you want and im sure she will love it.

Disney Florists have some great products...I used them as well. Their website is simply www.disneyflorist.com and they will deliver to your room or to a specific restaurant.

Now having said that, they messed up a deliverly to my dinner that I paid extra to ensure it was there by a certain time. After that, the restaurant staff made it 10 times worse by delivering it to the table next to us!

The delivery I had sent to the room went off without a hitch though. If you're thinking about doing something like this I would suggest having something delivered and waiting for your fiance for when you get back from the parks after you do the proposal. But again, I just want to caution you not not to mention that there is an engagement, just that it's for a special occasion. Disney Florist is where my whole debacle started because they put a note in their system that I would proposing that night and it got updated to my resort reservation and the notes were not specific enough I'm guessing to say that it was a surprise that hadn't happened yet! Oh what a mess! It's a great story to tell...but it was an emotional trainwreck!

Can't wait to hear how yours goes! :)

i proposed before there was Photo Pass during the Fireworks in the hub - "Partners" statue is our statue and brings good memories every time we see it

There were other people around that were glad to take pictures of us (before digital cameras) but the only one that came out good was the one we took @ arm's length - it was too dark otherwise
