We arrive to the world on Nov.15, around 4:00 pm. We have 6 day hopper passes, we will be leaving the following Friday around 3:00 pm. Should we get an extra ticket so if we want to go all 7 days we can? Your thoughts please.

Getting an extra park ticket?????

Yep I would too. We always get park hopper tickets to cover all days even departure days. Usually we end up going every single day to get done what we want to do and usually to multiple places each day. Some places close earlier than others etc so usually we go to at least 2 places each day, and the last day we go wherever to finish up.

We always include arrival and departure days. For us sometimes its going to start our trip out with nothing more than a few short rides or shows or the parade. Last day of our trip we always hit our favorites, must dos or something that was missed due to being down.

You can easily add the extra day onto your ticket mid-trip if you do need it. If you arrive and decide to go to the park, you can then just stop by Guest Relations at some point during your trip and add the extra day to cover your final day. It'll cost you about $10 per person.
That way if you end up not needing it, you've saved the $10.

We also have tickets for the arrival and departure days. Even if its a just for a bit in the a.m. before we leave, we need one last spin around the MK!

i have always waited until that last day to see what we were going to do that day and if we needed them, added the extra day. use to be quick and easy and cheap.
now it depends where you purchased your tickets how easy and inexpensive it is.
meaning.........and i have not encountered this yet, but disney announced that they have changed the way they credit the value of your ticket if you purchased from a discounted like maple leaf or undercover tourist - like we do. now instead of crediting you with the value of a six day ticket and charging the difference between that and a 7 day ticket, they credit you the value of what the discounter paid to disney for that ticket, not even what you paid the discounter, but what the discounter paid.
so now instead of an extra $10 a day extra it is going to cost you a bunch- don't know what the discounters pay, but sure it's noticably less than you paid them, and what you paid them is noticably less than the value of the ticket. so you are really getting screwed..........
bottom line, if you bought from disney directly, wait until the last day and see if you want to add a day. if you bought from a discounter, consider doing something else that day

Actually, the only place I've heard about this "new policy" was a rumor coming from a travel agent site. There was nothing official from Disney.
Also, one policy that Disney *did* change is that tickets now must be upgraded *before* the end of the last active day on the ticket. So if you use your last park admission on Thursday and want to be able to add a day so you can go to the park on Friday, you must visit Guest Relations before leaving the park on Thursday. Sometimes the CM can make exceptions or still-active Water Parks admissions can keep a ticket "active", but it's still best to upgrade before the last theme park day on the ticket, just to be safe.

With the huge expense a WDW trip usually is, I would get the extra day for the $10/person and not stress about it. If you're debating it now, you'll debate it the whole trip - and that will be an extra concern while you should just be enjoying your vacation. I would rather make a decision from home, stick with it, and be happy about it.
It's $60 - you need to decide if it's ok for you to throw that out the window, if the ticket isn't used.

We do like to visit a Park the morning of our departure, but with a 4pm arrival time, I'd probably skip that day in the Park. By the time you check in to your room and get to a Park, unless it is a night with EMH, you will have such limited time there, plus you'll be tired from travelling. If it was us, we'd probably go to a resort or Downtown Disney for dinner and shopping that first night.
