Getting a Value Room at Jambo House

The quick service at OKW is really just a pool snack bar, so if you often use the QS restaurants, SSR would be a better fit for you. I don't know if OKW is any more compact than SSR, they are both huge properties and your experience may depend on the location of your room. For me, the quick service location and the proximity to DS give SSR the edge.

You can also order from Olivia’s to go, which gives a few more options.

I was just looking at the DVC Rental Store rates for this October (since next October is not bookable yet) and I was surprised to see that a standard (not value) 2-bedroom villa at Animal Kingdom Lodge (either Kidani Village or Jambo House) was slightly cheaper than a 2-bedroom villa at either Old Key West or Saratoga Springs. Is that right? I always heard OKW and SSR were the cheapest DVC resorts, and I assumed AKL would always be more expensive.

Brokers charge different amounts per point for certain resorts. Usually there are two prices and I’d have expected all 3 resorts to be in the same group.

The refurb is starting at AKL in October, so they may be adjusting for that.

Also DVC Rental Store are part of an umbrella group that also buys & sells DVC contracts. It’s possible they have bought some AKL contracts and stripped the points, and therefore have a large number of their own points to rent out.
