Gets no respect

How about a thread of Disney Features that you don't think get any respect.

Top of my list:
Treasure Planet - You know, its a good old fashioned adventure tale and a tale of growing up and maturing. Plus, the music is fantastic, not only the Jonny Reznick song, but also the score. Plus Morph is adorable!

Brother Bear - Watched this for the first time a few days ago. The Welcome Song should be an immediate Disney classic. The movie itself is gorgeous. I heard all the criticism about Disney going back to the well for the story, but come on, people will say that about anything with an emphasis on the meaning of family.

Emperor's New Groove - Hands down, the most easily quotable Disney film ever. Hilariously funny for any age, reminds me of good slapstick comedy. My only complaint is that David Spade is always the skinny guy paired with the fat guy, right?

Anyway, list on and why!

The Emperor's New Groove - The comedy and music was great; I just don't understand why audiences didn't get with this one.

Atlantis: The Lost Empire - Beautiful animation and a great story. Seems to always be overlooked.

Of course, the character in Atlantis are wonderfully thought out. Plus, it was one of Jim Varney's best roles. Milo Thatch is one of my favorite Disney Heroes ever!

Addd my support for Brother Bear - that movie was beautiful! The art blew me away. I'll admit, that movie actually brought me to tears. And I love the soundtrack and score!

It has brought tears to everyone's eyes that have seen it that I know too. I LOVE the soundtrack too and listen to it all the time. You can add me to the list for Brother Bear and Emperor's New Groove. Atantis was also a good movie, Treasure Planet...still haven't seen all the way though.

Me too! We seem to like the same movies (Aladdin, BB). Just tell me you love the Little Mermaid and we're Disney soul mates!

I agree about the first two on your list. About the third, well, not quite. Here is a review of mine (which no one commented on btw  ). You'll see why I don't see TENG as a TRUE Disney classic. :D

Also, I am a realy huge fan of Oliver and Company, if anyone asks me my favorite disney movie, 9 times out of 10 I'll give Oliver as an answer. Now there's a movie you can walk away singing the songs to!

Used to be my favorite as a kid. Great movie. :)

I'd also say that A Goofy Movie is very, VERY underrated....but it isn't an "animated feature."

They would top my list!

I think Emperor's New Groove was not a hit because it has a naff title. I don't know why, but it just does not scan well. I love the film - great characters and bags of comedy.

Atlantis was a pleasant surprise - I loved the characters and humour, as well as going for a different style. "You'll need these too - she sleepwalks"

Wow I saw the entire movie about a year back and I absolutely loved it. I love the songs "Why shoud I worry, why should I caaaare?". And it's hilarious, especially Tito and Georgette .

As for me, I think Hercules deserves a bit more credit. I even read in The Art of Disney that this film wasn't considered a success. I thought the movie was hilarious, the songs were great, and James Woods was awesome as Hades "Guys, Olympus would be that way....Zeuuuuussss!".

What else? I agree with The Goofy Movie. I've always like that one.

The Rescuers Down Under gets waaaaay overlooked. That movie totally captured my imagination when I was a kid. My friends and I spent hours pretending we had a huge golden eagle for a friend. A couple of years ago I bought it on DVD, and it got me again. The animation is incredible - I think the work on Marahute is some of the most beautiful I've seen come out of Feature Animation. And that score... simply amazing...

I love Hercules, but never considered it an overlooked film. I like Alan Menkin music in his Little Shop of Horrors mode.

I've not seen this one in a while, but I remember a superbly timed sequence with the giant lizzard (Joanna?) Trying to steal eggs from the bad guy.

Another good one right there. Don't seem to hear much about the first one anymore as well. They were both excellent films.

How about The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad? Great film, is always overlooked IMO.

This is my all time favorite of the Disney Classics...I always rent it in October during the Halloween season. Having Bing Crosby's voice in the movie didn't hurt either. :animwink:

As stated before, Hercules is underrated. The humor and one liners are fantastic. The Hunchback of Notre Dame was underrated. The music and the animation of Esmerelleda is amazing. Fantasia 2000 doesn't get much credit, but it should, they made great musical choices, I just wish had been alot longer.
