Get to the front of the test track line?

I know this is in my other topic "Spring Break Wait times" but I figured I had a better chance of getting my question answered if I made it a separate topic.

If you have a GM ID or some type of proof that you work there can you get instantly to the front of the line at test track? If so, do you get to watch the movies or pre-ride feature? thanks for all your help.

Well all i know is that for Space Mountain and Fed-Ex....there is an employee (FEDEX) lounge and if you show proof that you are a fed-ex employee...you get to the front of the line...im not to sure about this same thing for testrack......

I don't know about TT but at SM as a FedEx employee you get to skip the line and go straight to the front. Which does mean you dont see the displays throughout the attracion.

I am sure anyone else from Michigan may be able to answer that! :D ;)
There are many members from there... we just have to get them to this thread! lol  just kiding...
I´m not sure about the line benefits, I would doubt it... maybe access to the lounges, but for skipping lines? I worked in GR and never heard of that before, but my bosses were very very strict on giving any kind of help that may speed up your waiting for a ride or show. Unless you were in a real bad situation and your doctor said so, everybody has the same right and everybody waits in line. ;)

Of course... I am probably wrong... if u get that priviledge by working there, let me know so I can tell my friends who haven´t taken advantage of it! lol :D

When I went in April 2000 I visited the FedEx lounge at SM and when we were ready the CM took us right to the front and through the disabled entrace, absolutely no wait time. But you are only allowed this privlidge once per day.

I've seen people getting bumped ahead of me in line on test track, 2 little punk girls...the CM said they were VIP, which one could either take them to disney channel stars b/c i doubt they were movie stars or the kids of GM employees, then again they could just be spoiled brats living off daddy's money.

Wow that post sounds bitter, sorry just want to convey that people do get bumped ahead of ME (actually took my seat in the car) on TT

so you had to wait, what: an extra 30 seconds? big deal....dont' get all worked up about it.....

I knew an employee of the college program...when we went to DL we rode the monorail (he was a pilot at WDW) and the monorail pilot at DL gave us passes to skip any line we wanted.

As long as it's a once-a-day thing, i could care less.....its' the people that believe they should be able to hold dozens of fastpasses that annoy me.

Or people that would go "I'm an employee of (FedEx, GM, Whatever) and I have a RIGHT to skip this line as many times as I want. Face it..you didn't pay anything...your employer did, and not so you could skip the line, but for advertising and PR.

I also see this sickness with some Annual Passholders, who believe that they hold special priveleges because they happen to be fortunate enough to live close to WDW. This annoys me to no end...i can understand special functions and all, but I was down there the week before the 100 year celebration started, and i can't tell you how many times I heard AP holders complaining about having to wait in line.

Then they might as well charge different admission rates...if you pay more you can skip lines or go to special ones that get first dibs.....It would never come to this, but these attitudes are just as ridiculous as that idea.

I'm not positive on this but I think that, if you're standing on the loading ramp, you look across and see a door. I THINK (not positive) that that is the door to the GM lounge. I've seen a family come out of there and get into the next car to roll in front of them. I think you get onto the attraction from the lounge.

Sorry to disappoint you but I don't know anyone who works for the automakers anymore. My wife was in 6th grade before she made the connection that she lived in the Detroit area and all her friends parents (and her own dad) worked for car companies. We live about 30 miles from the real Test Track that the ride was based on, but that and $10 will get you a refillable mug at the Contemporary. :brick:

yeah... it seems like the major industry is cars there, so a lot of people work in that. I have friends in Michigan whose families work in car companies, and it was interesting to see how a city develops around that industry too... more or less what is happenning where I live, not with cars though, but with the manufacturing industry. Everybody works in them!

To answer you're question, yes they do let GM employees come out a back entrance. Last year, I was on a team that went to Epcot and we wore the GM colors, and they let us up into their break room and then let us in the back entrance straight into the ride because they thought we were GM reps. Sooo, have fun riding it over, and over, and over again :animwink:

I am a CM and I have other CM friends who work at Test Track and they gave me a handfull of "Re-Entry" passes. They are purple. I have one right here now. On the reverse side it says "Please enter through the merchandise area, and proceed to the exit of the attraction, between the times noted on the other side..." and so on. This is given to all TT CM's and they can use them at their own will. My friend has tons of these.

Also about the lounge. Yes you do have to show ID to a camera and then they will send down the elevator for you. Not just everone can get up there. And not all GM employees either. It's not like you can just walk in you know.

If u have at least one stock with Kodak u can go to the kodak pavillion and enjoy free soda and water and when u r ready see the CM there and they will escort u to the front of the line at Test Track. A $20 stock is worth not waiting 1-2hr wait!
