I'll take your 10lbs! I just got over Mono and I need to gain 10lbs!

The best way I found to lose weight was to not only keep active by walking, but count your caloric intake every day. I used to be 190lbs, and right now i'm about 122. Subway is also a great way to help lose weight, I ate a turkey sub there with cheese, lettuce and tomato all the time...no dressings or anything. The healthy way is to lose about 2-3lbs a week, if you need any help send me a PM or IM!

Heading for the great escape.
I did Mr Atkins famed diet and lost 12 lbs in 14 days. Lost a lot over 3 months shame I put it all back on and may have harmed my liver in the process.

Would howver recommend it for a pre holiday fix.

Low carbing can give a quick fix - no bread, pasta, rice or potatoes. However I found after a few months I was feeling weak.

I now favour low fat (less than 5% content) as well as keeping an eye on sugar content as some manufacturers make their food low fat by shoving more sugar in it

The other step is exercise with a heart rate montior. Once you have calculated your maximum and minimum heart rates you can work out the best fat burning zone, which is surprisingly not that strenuous, in the past I always worked to hard for not long enough. Now I can put up the ski machine in front of the TV and work out whilst watching a movie.

In the last two years I have lost about 60 pounds doing this.

Just be mindful of your portion sizes and get lots of exercise (walking at a medium pace or swimming is good because it is low impact on your body). To burn calories you need to work up a sweat because that means you are increasing your metabolic rate. I do not suggest that you skip carbohydrates because your body needs them for energy. Low fat is the way to go along with a moderate amount of carbs. You must exercise otherwise the carbs will turn to fat if you do not use them up (this is usually where people go wrong). The people who eat low fat, low carb or no carb are so tired because they have depleted the body's energy sources (body needs a certain amount of fat and carbs (sugars) to function). If the body does not have adequate amounts of energy sources it starts breaking down protein which is very bad for you and leads to muscle fatigue and loss (this takes a little while though)and actually means you are starving your body of nutrients. Of course it is much more scientific than this, but I don't think you probably care about that.

Just remember, there is no such thing as a healthy diet.......only healthy eating habits!

Best of luck!!!

Aside from the suggestions offered, make sure you drink cold water; in your case, at least 70 ounces. (A gallon, plus a glass, roughly) You actually burn calories "heating" it, and the water tends to "flush" your system. It will also make you feel full, which will cut down on eating, and if you're drinking water, you're not drinking things with calories or sodium (salt=fluid retention=you weigh more) or caffeine in them.

So sleeping with Mr. Atkins takes off the pounds. I guess you just use a different approach. :hammer:

Sorry for playing with your words

Water is a good key and watch what you eat. I was making my mom do stomach crunches and they seemed to help her get rid of her belly fat and it got rid of my little bit that was there cause I had to do them with her. Just make sure you dont eat a lot of junk food as well. I have been eating healthy and eating fruits veggies ect. I feel alot better as well. Hope this helps ya too!

I did weight watchers... lost 22 pounds in 3 months.. brought it all back b/c i wasn't disciplined, but now i'm doing it again! I have lost about 10 pounds in 4 weeks. You can do it!!! I don't go to the meetings, b/c i feel i can be disciplined enough without those.. but for first timers, the meetings are a must!
