Germany dark ride??

I am a subscriber of Deb's allears.net newsletter, and I read an interesting article on there about when Epcot Center was first opening in 1982 and the future of the Germany pavillion. They mentioned that construction crews were building the Germany pavillion with a dark ride that sounded similar to El Rio del Tiempo or Maelstrom. It would have taken you through the cultures and traditions of Germany and through some of it's oldest cities. Has anyone heard anything about this, or what happened to this plan? The article made it out like construction crews had already begun building this dark ride....I wonder what happened to it...or if the the beginning stages of the ride are still somewhere within the pavillion's walls?

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Well, the show building for the attraction was built, and it still stands. The entrance to the attraction would have been between the Biergarten and the Doll/Toy shop. the building is now used as a Cast Member break area.

Wow....very interesting..thanks...I'll have to look for that building when I'm there this week. Do you know why Disney put a red light on the attraction?

A zany dark ride through German Nazi infested waters! Your kids will be singing along to memorable songs such as "Du Hast" and "Its a Lost War After All"! Teens will enjoy the dangerous drop over the border! Pure Disney magic with a little hint of German!

Sorry if i have offended anyone. If so, i will edit it for your comfort.
