Generation question (Babyboomer, Y,X,Baby busters, Etc)

My mother is a boomer and my father is a member of the silent generation, but he doesn't fit the typical silent gen makeup (for one thing, he is one of the 2% of the silent generation's entrepreneurs -- although he is now retired). This gave me, in part, what some consider an odd outlook on society, life etc.

I am economicly conservative and socially liberal -- I believe in freedom (the freedom the framers of the constitution wrote of) and free enterprise -- completely free enterprise -- and at the same time I don't think the government should mandate morality.

My views alienate me from both the republican and democrat parties. There are lots of gen x members that feel the same, but again because of our relativly low numbers and lack of solidarity we wind up choosing a party based on the lesser of two evils. The libertarian party, which is closest to my political view is just too small to do anything major and tends to attract way too many crazies for comfort.

Totally agree with you on this. I know so many gen x-er's of the urban professional type so share the same beliefs.
