General Thoughts of Frozen

Hello everyone!

This is part of my 2nd year assignment so please answer truthfully.

Frozen has become a huge hit. Since being released it has gained an incredible amount of merchandise, which has even had to bring in the policy of only 5 Frozen item purchases in any one sale.

It features in the Festival of Fantasy Parade which first appeared back in March, which is roughly 4 months after the film came out in the cinema, I don't think I have ever seen such a quick turn around of a animation film to a parade ( correct me if I am wrong!)

Frozen Summer fun: Free Olaf Fan, Firework Display, A mini parade at 11am, sing along show and Oaklands trading post.

Character meet and greets exceeding 4-5 hours.

And the big one replacing Malestrom for a Frozen themed ride.

Now I visited in September and I have to admit I was captivated, the amount of pictures of Anna and Elsa I took, exceeds any other princesses I have taken before, the fake snow in HS was also a huge hit for me.
To me, when it was announced Malestrom was closing, a lot of mixed reactions appeared. Ive visited many years in the past to find Malestrom was a easy walk straight on ride, as soon as its about to close, it reaches 40-60 min queue length, with endless pleas not to close it.

So what is YOUR opinion on all the Frozen updates to WDW?

Thank you for your time.

we were there late April-early May before frozen came into HS. not surprised that they're cashing in on it, but surprised on how frozen took off. I honestly think disney didn't know what they had on their plate in the beginning.
from what I've heard & read about, it sounds like overkill. it'll die down eventually.

I feel that it's okay, but it should come to a stop. I feel we have a lot of Frozen in the parks now, and having an attraction its' peak.

I haven't seen Frozen (which is unusual since I generally try to see the animated features in the theatre). With all the hoopla, I feel like I have to see it before my next trip or I will be missing out on part of the experience. I almost wonder if that's part of the marketing plan - "Oh so you want to come see Disney's Frozen World and you HAVEN'T seen the movie?! Well you will not understand any attraction, parade, fireworks, entertainment, music or general atmosphere in the parks until you do."

Now I'm considering renting or buying it so I can be part of the cool crowd and be in on the latest fad before I go next month. I do have a FP+ for Anna and Elsa and the conversation may be a little stilted when I call them by the wrong names or something.

It's a vicious circle. Seeing the movie makes you want to visit the parks so you can meet the characters and visiting the park makes you want to see the movies of the new characters you just met.

The movie was good, I don't consider it "the best since the Lion King" though I know a good majority of people do see it that way. I think I prefer nearly every film made since the Lion King to Frozen, but that's just my opinion. I'm pretty unhappy about the Frozen changes coming to the parks. I don't mind that they're in Festival of Fantasy, however, I wish they would have found a way to include them without kicking Aurora out. I think they need their own meet and greet location instead of being inside Princess Fairytale Hall and once again, kicking out Aurora, and also Snow White. Snow and Aurora are the classics and despite the fact that we have to make room for the new, I don't believe we should get rid of the classics (Walt's originals) to do so. I'm somewhat alright with the attraction replacing Maelstrom in Norway, because as much as I loved Maelstrom, it did need SOME type of refurb. I'm very upset about the whole Elsa "freezing" Cinderella Castle, because Cinderella's Holiday Wish was great and it's her castle, so I don't think Frozen should get to take that over as well. I just think it's getting to be overload.

I am not a big Frozen fan because there is just way too much of it around. I like a wide variety of movies used to the parks, but right now it seems like a bit much. Having a whole store dedicated to just one movie is a lot for me.

I liked the film, but I wouldn't have said it had the most amazing songs (I couldn't sing 'He's a big of a Fixer Upper' on demand, even for a million quid!). To be honest, I felt it was quite lyrically challenged, and some of the words made no sense (It's funny how some distance, makes everything seem small.... well, no not funny really is it? You're moving away from the object so it's going to get smaller..!!) and the over use of 'totally' and 'like' and 'stuff some chocolate in my face'. Not exactly beautiful lyrics of old eh?
Still, I'll be getting myself an Olaf jumper for the Christmas period!

HATE "Frozen". HATE HATE HATE......it and everything about it, and especially its replacing Maelstrom.

- Didn't care for the story, didn't like the characters, and don't like any of the songs. Disney really struck out there, in this person's opinion.

I throughly enjoyed the movie. I was there in August and yes there was a lot of Frozen. I didn't care one way or the other because my daughter is too old for that to be important.

However what I can't figure out is (and please don't jump me because it is obvious there are many people against all the frozen) why there are so many haters but Disney is doing what is working. You could barely look anywhere and not see a little princess in an Elsa dress. The meet and greet line is long because someone likes it. And that store dedicated to Frozen had a waiting line.

Personally, I love frozen. I have noticed that people tend to start disliking something when it gets popular. I think it's the "overexposure is annoying" mentality. I actually had that feeling about seeing Despicable Me, because in my area the ads were seemingly never ending. However, now I've seen it and really enjoyed it. So in a few years when the hype dies down a bit people may not be so vehemently against Frozen.
