That's really cute!!E just sent me a picture of the Zebra plushie she made for her friend's birthday. She must have crocheted it in between classes, because she only downloaded the pattern last night and told me she was making it for Daphne's birthday. (There are actually 4 Daphne's and I think this one is Daphne 3, but I'm not sure.) She loves zebras.

Thanks! I thought it was really cute! And I asked, it is Daphne 3. Not that it really matters, but I find it amusing that there are so many Daphnes.Totes Adorbs!!!

I will ask her. I know she got it online somewhere, and she said it was hard to find patterns that are made by actual people rather than AI generated ones, which sometimes don't work. And then she was having problems getting it to open, but she figured it out.Songbird, I love to crochet and am just getting started on making these small animals. Thank you for so much informationShe says:
The main pattern I used is this one: https://blog.amigurumiallfreepatterns.com/crochet-mini-zebra-free-pattern/?ssp_iabi=1677826338091
I used chenille yarn, which meant I couldn't do the mane in the same way, so I loosely followed this pattern for the mane: https://amigurumi.today/free-crochet-zebra-amigurumi-pattern/
This pattern is for a much bigger zebra plushy, so I believe I did something like
16 ch
Beginning from 2nd ch from hook: (slst, 6ch, slst in same ch, slst in next ch, 5 ch, slst in same ch) repeated until the end of the chain.
(I used 12mm safety eyes and a 3.5mm hook)
Well you learn something new every day! I just assumed that "real" people made the patterns, not Al generated!!!I will ask her. Cute! You should definitely share some photos when you are done! I would think you could probably put weights in the zebra to make him sit, too, but I don't know. I only got to see the finished product in a picture. She made it in between classes, or maybe even during a lecture, and gave it to Daphne right away, so I never got to see it.Thank you for so much informationI will definitely try this one out. The chickens I am making are about 6 inches tall while sitting down, lol. They have a weighted bottom so you can sit them on a ledge with their feet dangling. I will try this pattern next. They are addicting and so cute.
Nope. Apparently a lot of the patterns you find for free now are AI generated and not always accurate. They'll have things that are impossible to do, or that look really wonky, etc. E will usually find a basic pattern and then tweak it to fit her needs. She made her own for one of those reversable octopus pillows, if you've ever seen those. She couldn't find a pattern for free or something, so she just did something and it worked.Well you learn something new every day! I just assumed that "real" people made the patterns, not Al generated!!!
