My fiancee and myself will be going down in a few weeks and staying at the poly. She wants to go and have dinner at the gaylord palms. Has anyone had dinner over there and are there any recomendations? Also, has anyone dined at Bubba Gumps?

I've also eaten at the buffet for lunch. It was good. Be sure to see ICE! while you're there.

I've also eaten at Bubba Gumps many times. It's a fun place with good food.

2 years ago we stayed at the Gaylord and we ate at both the Old Hickory Steakhouse and Sunset Sams. Both were very good but very different.

I think it may depend on the atmosphere you are looking for. Old Hickory is a steakhouse with a rustic feel. Its in the Everglades section of the hotel and you really get that flavor in its surroundings. While Sunset Sams is literally a 60ft tall sailboat sitting in the water inside the atrium of the hotel. Its much more vibrant, a Caribbean feel. And obviously leans more towards seafood.

If you are looking for quite and more private than Old Hickory would be the choice because Sunset Sams is a boat open to the atrium so it is louder. But if your looking for something a little more casual and fun than Sunset Sams would be the choice. The night we went to Sunset Sams they had some performers walking around and live music...a Key West feel.

Also I highly reccomend the show ICE....its like nothing you will see anywhere else. (*Beware of freezing cameras, its 4 degrees inside the show).
