We are headed to WDW 5/27 - 6/3. I noticed that Gay Days will be in Orlando from May 31 - June 6. Looking at the calendar of events, the plan is for everyone participating in the event to enjoy AK on Thursday June 2, and DHS on Friday June 3. Since we will not be participating in these events, should we avoid these parks on these days because they will be mobbed with people, or is it not enough people to really notice? Are the other parks more crowded during the entie week, or only on specific days?

I asked this same question almost 2 years ago. We were there during Gay Days in 2009.

I was told to absolutely avoid Magic Kingdom on the Saturday (I think that would be June 2 in your case?) because that is the day with the biggest crowds. Which makes sense, because it's a Saturday which means those who are coming in for a long weekend will have arrived, locals can visit the park, etc.

To be sure we avoided the crowds, we went "against" the Gay Days schedule and had no problems and mid sized crowds.

Don't forget it will also be Star Wars Weekends (I think?) and that can add to the crowds at DHS Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Hope you have a great trip!

we went last year with our 2 kids (4 and 8) and did not realize it was gay days. i had already planned our first day at the magic kingdom, which happened to be the designated gay day there as well that saturday. crowds were low, and it did not affect our experience in the slightest. were from a small town and not used to being around that kind of environment, and i honestly cannot say that it was any bit of a distraction for us.

in fact, we are going back this year during that week bc its the only time with free dining that the kids are out of school.

Unfortunately this topic usually turns to a thread such as this. I am going to be closing this to avoid any further comments and leaving just the few posts that deal with the OP's question.

Remember what we are here for folks, discussion about Disney. Religion, politics, etc have their respective websites and discussions about those are best kept there.

Thanks.
