On Saturday, it gets pretty outrageous, to say the least. The evenings are a little better because there are so many parties around the property... the Gay folk clear out to attend them.

Each park is a different day i think it starts with:

AK on Thursday
MGM on Friday
MK Saturday
EC Sunday

If you go on alternate days, you should be ok.

Sigh... First you comment in the thread about Universe of Energy with "disgusting Ellen Degeneres", then this.

Jeez.. grow up already.

Its basically a day thats going to be more crouded than usual....and most of them will happen to be wearing red shirts.

Really..its no biggie...If you are concerned over the crouds at the parks, just remember that its worse at easter or christmas.

...and for those of you who think you can "escape" it by running to another park (disney or non disney)...you are mstaken.

I think it's funny that so many people out there want to avoid taking their kids to Disney during gay day. Disney is a family park, and while this may shock you to hear it, gay people have familys too. Maybe if your kid sees two guys kiss when they're young, they won't grow up calling everyone around them 'gay' as if it were a derogitory term. The only reason someone should have to not want to go to the MK on gay day is that the park will be packed and you'll have to wait in longer lines. As njchris65 said, some of you really need to grow up.

My Wife and were at the Magic Kingdom on June First of last year. The worst thing about it was that it was so crowded! It was packed wall to wall, the busiest I have ever seen it. For me that is the only reason I would not go on that date again.

For the most part everyone there was actually better behaved and more courteous than when we have been there on other days. We did see some of things I would call unacceptable. But that was the exception not the rule.

If you dont like crowds I would say don't go. I you dont mind them there is really no reason to stay away.

I've hit it a few times. (it's usually the weekend after school closes here, so we were trying to "beat the crowds") I've always had my children with me....except for my son remarking that the guys wearing the princess hats looked silly, I don't think he noticed anything unusual! (except the crowds) Aside from the crowds, be aware that the full service restaurants will also be crowded....you might want to get some PS before you go!

I don't know about as a guest, but as a cast member, Gay Day is pretty much the best day to work. In general, the guests are so much more polite and friendly than on regular days.

Last year, there was also a private "after hours" party at the Studios, so it was pretty empty during the day...you might want to find out if anything like that is going on while you're there.

Yes, the MK is crowded that day. Is it a bad place to go? No. As one person stated earlier, yes there might be some unappropiate behavior, but that is the exception, not the rule. I've seen quite a few people involved in unappropiate behavior at other times in the parks as well. And they weren't gay either.

The media and certain fanatical religious zealots would have you believe that the MK turns into this horrible drug crazed den of iniquity (sp?). :fork:

What it really becomes is a place where for one day, people who are gay can hold hands with their partner in public and not be ridiculed or snickered at. It's a place where people don't need to hide. I'm not advocating people going out and doing things that would be better left for the bedroom, but doing normal things that you would see any heterosexual couple do on a normal day.

If this isn't your cup of tea, this is a free country and you don't have to be a part of it and that is fine. But we are all human beings, whether we be white, black, Jewish, Christian, Muslim, gay, straight, handicapped, or whatever and we all deserve the right to live our lives as our own as long as it doesn't take away this right from someone else.

For people who have vacations planned for this time, I hope you don't change those plans because it is Gay Days. I hope that makes you even more eager to come because for that day, Disney World truly is the happiest place on earth....for everyone.
