Gas Shortage

Getting ready to head down to FL on Sunday and there is a huge gas shortage in GA and the surrounding states. Just wondering if anyone has been traveling the last day or two and couldn't find gas.

I heard today that several states were implementing special provisions to ease up on the tanker truck laws to allow a better flow of fuel to the region.

The shortage is due to a very old gas pipeline that ruptured. Guess it's what happens when you can't build new pipelines for various reasons.

Just curious, where are you driving from? At the very least I'd suggest gassing up as far down as you can before entering the affected area

We're driving from the ATL and we'll have a full tank when we leave, but we'd need to fill up at least once during the drive there. Hopefully by Sunday things will settle down a little.

I think price gouging is going to be more of an issue. I live very close to the area where the leak was discovered, and we havent heard anything about shortages in this area. Gas has gone up about 15 cents per gallon though.
