Gas Prices affecting anyone's trip plans?

We are leaving Memorial Day weekend and planning on driving, even with $5 a gallon it would still be cheaper for us to drive than fly right now. So we are still planning on going, even though it might be more to budget.
But I was wondering if anyone is thinking of changing their trip plans due to gas prices? Or you willing to just pay more?

ehh.. no

Flying 5 people to Cali is expense even before the latest gas prices. There is no change in my current plans.

I know. We were going to go to California last year and I had everything but airfare booked. I looked again this year, and airfare is about 33% higher.

I don't get why you have such a hard time admitting that the price of gas is affecting people.

Because I'm responding to the original post which asked

Not 'does the cost of living affect your choices in what you do in life'

Of course costs impact decisions.. but in the context of the thread and the question - I don't see a significant number of people killing off their family vacation they've been playing for 6+ months because they are going to spend another hundred bucks or two in something they accept as a cost of living every day.

People adapt what they do in daily living when gas hits psychological limits - certainly. But traveling to Disney for your family vacation isn't discretionary, adhoc expenditures that you normally start or stop on a whim.

big thing i have seen is the price in airfare. the saem flight this year is costing about 75 more than last year. & when u have 6 people going that adds up fast

We were planning on coming down in November for a long weekend, but have put things on hold for now. Flight prices have increased, and we would need a rental car(which means higher gas prices while there). So, we are waiting to see if things change drastically or not before we book in. We used to be able to fly from Pittsburgh to MCO for $160 round trip, flights are over $200 right now.

Try renting a pop up at Fort Wilderness. You can save the gas it costs to tow and experience the Camping end of it. Most of the people that rent already own an RV but saved more than the gas alone. You just can't beat the Fort for the whole experience.

It is affecting our plans, but in our case it just costs too much to fly now so we're driving down and saving a bunch of $$. Should be 9.5-10.5 hours and we'll tackle the whole thing in one day.

This will be the first time driving down 95 in about 20 yrs when I go to Florida this fall, so I'm not gonna sweat the gas price. (but back then my parents were driving me) Plus, I can't see the South of the Border signs from the Southwest plane! ;)

we're driving a little over 9hrs from NC, We would like to have flown but for us it is soooo much cheaper that even though we will be spending about $125 or more in gas it's a much better deal!!

Last year we drove almost 3000 miles on 118 gallons of gas ,my mommy mobile gets most excellent highway mileage for what it is!
