Hi all,

I've heard consistently mixed reviews on Garden Grill. Can you tell me your thoughts on this place and why? Its a character meal I have not done yet so was entertaining branching out and giving it a go.

Thanks!

I like it. I like it more when they're serving the fresh green beans! But I like it. Decent food, rotating restaurant, characters in cute, stereotypical farm clothes. What's not to like? ;)

The first time I went, I was a wee little bit disappointed that I couldn't look down at all the LWTL stuff. You really only see the top part of all of it. But you do get a peek inside the upstairs of the house you pass on the ride. :)

If you sit on the lower level, it's also one of the more private, relaxing places to eat.

If you want to try it, you totally should. But if you don't, go to a place you really do want to try! :)

Also a big thumbs up from us! We've eaten there twice. The food is good, really like family style for a character meal. Much more "intimate" than any other character meal we've been to. The character interaction was great both times too.

We finally tried it this past Nov. We requested a table on the lower level, which gave us a nice view of Living with the Land. We had a wonderful server...super attentive and very nice. The food was quite tasty...especially the fish- YUM! I'd also classify it as the best character interaction we've had at all of the character meals. The characters made it to our table about 5x and some of the interaction was pretty special. Mickey was celebrating his bday as was DD4, so they had a lovely bday "chat." Dale was also very upset that she was being stubborn that night and wasn't eating much...so he sat down and hand fed her for a little while. We would have gotten her to eat, but how often do you get fed by a character? In any event...we'd recommend it! ;)

The Garden Grill is a good restaurant. Good atmosphere & location. The food is good but plain.

Roast turkey, beef & fish. Nothing fancy. Nothing exotic. Well cooked & served. Very Fun.

There are more intersting menus at WDW but for a good home cooked meal, Garden Grill is the way to go.

We are there this past Christmas and it was by far the best experience of the three times we ate there. Not that the other two times were bad, but the food and character interactions were awesome. We had a late ADR Christmas night and we were in no hurry. The place was almost empty when we were leaving. The characters spent so much time with our kids. They loved it!!

I mean, Mickey in overalls, nothing is cuter then that right? :)

My wife and i like it, but everyone's a critic. You should try it. Decent food, the characters visit each table, look for Mickey peeking at you through the bushes. A great hidden Mickey.

That sounded so creepy the first time I read it - I watched Alfred Hitchcock last night so in his voice "Mickey peeking at your through the bushes". (shudder) :) hee hee

I love this! So special!! So, there is more then one level? Which one is the first level? The one you see when you are walking in to check in?

So would you say bland or boring? We don't eat seafood so can we ask them not to bring that?

Thanks everyone! These are great reviews. My DH wants Teppan Edo. He's been asking for it for the past 8 years. So I think that is going to use up the TS credit at Epcot but i'm hoping to sway him towards GG. I have no interest in Teppan Edo.

We have dined here 3 times. Every time I liked it. Last trip in March we must have hit them just right for lunch. Not very crowded and the characters stayed at our table for long periods of time. Pluto sat down with us and cut up for at least 5 minutes.

The food is good if you like healthy food. The fresh vegetables are what I like. They grow a lot of them in the greenhouse on the Living With the Land ride. I would recommend it to my friends or family!

Yes, there are 2 levels. The first level is what you see from check in. The first level is all booth seating...has kind of a private feel to it. The 2nd level is tables.

While I liked having the bottom level for the booths and the private feeling...I also liked having the view...
