Garden Grill Question

Hello,
Going to Disney this coming weekend and am looking for places to eat that I haven't tried yet. One of the places is the Garden Grill at the Land. I love the Land Counter service but have never eaten at the Garden Grill.

What are some comments or thoughts on the Garden Grill. Is the food worth the Character Dinning Price? And can you get Children's menu items if there aren't any children since one of the adults in our party is a picky eater.?

Thanks for the input.

Here's the menu: http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menu_gg.htm

I don't know if they'll allow adults to order off the kids menu or not. Never had the need to ask.

I wasn't overy thrilled by the food. The revolving resturant is interesting and you get to see pieces of Living with the Land. All in all I personally didn't think it was worth the price, but if the menu suits you, give it a shot.

You don't order off a menu-the food is brought out "family style." We had 2 adults and 2 kids. They brought out one big platter of fried fish, steak, turkey, veggies, rolls, etc. Then they brought out another big platter of chicken strips, mac & cheese, and other kid friendly stuff. It was all you could eat, and dessert is a sampler platter, too. It was my son's birthday so we got a cake instead-delivered by Dale!

I don't know if they would bring that out for all adults, but I would call and ask. This was our favorite restaurant of the whole trip. The character interaction was awesome!

I found the food on par with Liberty Tree Taven, if that helps, for good or bad. But while Liberty Tree Tavern has a little more of the ol' Disney-style charm (which is to say, it's kinda garish but in a really fun way), Garden Grill gets points for their dessert. Because, unless things have changed recently, the dessert is actually a chocolate fondue. Melted chocolate in a pot, with lots of tasty things to dip the chocolate in. LTT's apple cobbler is all well and good, but if it ain't chocolate, it ain't dessert in the Book O' Slappy.

awesome

The Garden Gril lis awesome. IT revolves and the way they do it is by the time you get back to the spot that you hopped on at you will have paid for your meal and be ready to leave.

It also has a nice view of Living with the Land.

My whole family loves the Garden Grill. I find the characters there are very playful and they seem to get around to all the diners more often. We usually see each of the characters at least twice during our meal.

I like the food too. For a short time they had gone away from the family meal, but they quickly went back to the Family style. Yeah!
The Fried Catfish is really good.

I know not everyone is a fan of the food, that's ok.. more for me. :slurp:

Have a good trip!

The GG is one of our favorite places to eat-n-greet. Going there again in Nov/Dec. Food is tasty and the characters are fantastic especially if you're not dining during the highest peak times.

We ate there for the first time on our last trip. The catfish was excellent. My daughter asked if we could go back there on our next trip and I think that is the plan.

It was mentioned above about Liberty Tree Tavern. That is one of our must do each trip places. We have alternated between lunch and dinner. Dinner there is a character meal but has a set menu. Lunch is not a character meal but has a full menu. We prefer lunch but due to my daughter we alternate each trip and do a dinner for her.

If you go for lunch, the pot roast is excellent.
