Garden Grill @ EPCOT

Hello all,

Can anyone give me the skinny on the Garden Grill restaurant at EPCOT. From reading the menu, it seems like a nice place to eat. Currently, we are planning on making this our first sit down meal whenever we arrive at Disney. Any good/bad information on this place would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It's really got a great selection! It's really interesting to learn, as well, that most of the food you eath there was actually grown there! In addition, it's really fun to spy on the attraction below! I love the Garden Grille!

We eat there EVERY YEAR. My wife and I love it, I find it a very relaxing and ejoyable lunch. It is a buffet, but you don't have to leave your table! The food and the characters come to you. If I remember right, most (if not all) of the food served there is grown there. The only thing I do suggest that you do if you are planning on eating there (as well as any where else at the world) is make priority seating.

This past January marked my 25th visit to WDW, but my first-ever meal at the Garden Grill -- it may have been the best meal I have ever had. I even told the server that: "Jan, this is the best meal I have ever had."

Desert was included, but I was so stuffed from dinner I couldn't even try to eat it. The seating is private but not so much so that you feel ostracized, and the character experience is great fun without growing tiresome.

I can't wait to eat there again.

Oh yes - We've eaten at GG on our last two visits to EPCOT and enjoyed it - The food is very good and the venue is unique as it spins (slowly !! :hurl:  ) while you eat

I havent eaten there in several years, but I remember the food being excellent. The only insight worth knowing I can give would be to make sure and go there with a hearty appetite. They give you copious amounts of food and its all excellent.

A good character meal, very calm due to the layout.

Food is pretty good...but there are plenty of people who'd disagree with some of the glowing reviews above. Do a search for old threads and I'll bet you find some critics.

We just ate at the Garden Grill in December. The food was great. The characters were unbelievable. They took a great deal of time with each table. Chip and Dale and Mickey even helped my son find Hidden Mickey's in the restaurant. All in all a GREAT experience. I highly recommend it.

One change I would recommend:) Try Canada, Rose and Crown or another location for your first sit down meal:D Canada would be my choice and I would ask for a booth. I think you will find it very romantic:cool: (San Angel Inn along the Rio would be romantic also

:animwink:

That said, I have not eaten at the Garden Grill since they changed the menu. You still get more than anyone could ever eat but the the choices ,flank steak rather than thin sliced roast beef, turkey rather than chicken and the elimiation of the apple crisp with ice cream has caused me to go elsewhere.
The GG does not spin but revolves very slowly, takes about an hour for a complete revolution. To have a really good time ask for Rosie for your CM (server). She is great:cool: :D :)

We really like GG we have ate there many times and never have been disapointed. Last trip we had a group of 4 adults, 2 todlers and a 12 year old and everyone was really pleased with it. The food is good, the characters always seem to have enough time to spend with people and as far as all you can eat character meals it is one of the more relaxing ones.

Don't be afaid to ask for more of anything you want, they bring it too you. Also they are really good at celebarting specail days (Aniversarys, birthdays ect...)

I have heard some complaints about GG on this board, but you won't get any from me. I love the catfish.

Do they still do breakfasts? I was reading in the 2004 Birbaum guide and it didn't show breakfast availbility. We did a breakfast there back in 1999 and it was great. Characters and a whole lot of food.

GG actually has one of my favorite details in all of WDW. when you're near the farmhouse, you can actually look in the upstairs window, into a young boy's room, fully furnished, with a scale trick. it never fails to make me exceedingly happy. :D
