Its not part of a franchise, but my favorite game is Red Dead Redemption. The ending is just such a punch in the gut.

The Undead Nightmare version is awesome, too.

I've completed RDR 100% three times. Now I just sit and play on occasion. Love it, and can't wait for the sequel.
