What about WWOHP is not up to Disney standard?? Its one of the best produce lands I've seen and I've seen a lot lol.

You misunderstand my post. My comment wasn't a reference to the quality of land Universal put out- by every account it's as good as anything Disney's done. I haven't visited Florida yet, but thought the one in Hollywood was beautifully done and did a lot of things right that Disney's been struggling with as of late.

I was instead referencing consumer expectations between the two companies- and as a general rule of thumb, consumers expect a higher quality experience from Disney than they do Universal- it's why Disney has been able to charge more to enter their parks, it's why Disney is more crowded, and it's why everyone was floored by Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

So yeah, when I say that the reason people didn't complain about Wizarding World only having one good ride and a kiddie coaster is because Universal can typically get away with less, especially when no one knew how good Wizarding World would be, I think the claim is justified.

Good post, but... This one point drives me nuts when it gets brought up. The idea that "today's" theme park patrons shun passive rides is just not true. Teens and kids still love the likes of Toad, Space Mountain, Pirates, Splash and Mansion. Roller Coasters continue to huge crowd draws, and they're as non-interactive as a ride can get. Theme parks are more popular than ever, despite 99% of the available rides being non-interactive. I enjoy the heck out of Toy Story Mania, but give me a great roller coaster or non-interactive dark ride over that any day. And I'm not speaking just for my fossilized self, but also for the many younger members of my family whose favorite rides have nothing to do with controlling or shaping the experience.
true, i wasn’t thinking so much about rollercoasters but more of the passive ride and pass by scenes rides. just standing in front if fantasyland especially during gradnights i heard many if the young people proclaiming that those were rides for kids. heard a small group tell one girl that the river boat was for old people. lol
yes it hurt.

Opening new lands without their full slate of attractions is apparently a rich Disneyland tradition. As pointed out above, New Orleans Square opened without Pirates or Mansion; also, Toontown opened without Roger, Pixar Pier opened without... most of it, and now Galaxy's Edge is opening without Rise of the Resistance. We all kind of got spoiled when Cars Land opened all of its attractions on its opening day.
