FW campsite question.

Hi All - Can anyone tell me how long can you actually stay at the FW campground? If you are retired and have an RV and just want to stay and relax is there a "limit" as to how long the campground will allow this? My DH and I are huge Wilderness fans and would love to be able to stay there when we retire. Wouldn't it be great to just stay for like a month or more, if you could afford it, of course.

I think you can rent by the month. When we were there I seen sites so elaborate that you knew those motor homes were there half of the year! Just guessing, so you should call them.

Found this on another website (posted in 2010):

What’s the longest anyone has stayed at a Campsite?
The longest stay was probably 6 months.
Does that introduce any residency issues?
No. Extended stays require renewal of a 30 day reservation. You may keep the same site, etc. but will need a new reservation each 30 days.

Keep in mind that there is no discount for renting by the month. My parents wanted to spend a month at Fort Wilderness in their RV and found out that if you do a month you're still paying whatever the nightly rate is.

We met a very nice older couple during our trip last year. They said they drive down in their RV every year and stay for 2-3 months in the winter at Ft Wilderness and they loved it. I guess if you're retired and can afford it, who wouldn't want to spend a few months in Disney every year.

If I were into RV'ing, it's something I'd love to do, especially around the holidays. The decorations around FW that time of the year are terrific. :-)

My husband and I are Fort fans and looking into buying an RV. He called earlier this summer and asked. The cast member told him that you can make a reservation for 30 days at a time and close to the end of the 30 days you can renew for another 30 days, and continue on for I think 6 months.
