Future of the Electrical Parade?

VERY tight lipped. This dropped off for me in 2008. I really thought it was dead.

I think I like when things are kept tight lipped. So when things are announced there a bigger surprise, and you dont hear those DLer's complaining nothing new to hear. lol Lets keep hoping Worlds of Wonder can still be kicked into DL come on TDA, though Im not holding out much hope for that one, maybe next year well get a new day time?

Grain of salt time, but why Electrical Parade is leaving DCA. Basically its because of World of Color and the huge crowds that will be heading to the park. Disney didnt want the new upgrades to get month balled into the parade warehouses, and a WDW executive heard and saw how Summer Nightastic! bumped DLR attendance last year( which was up 15% from the same time last year, and up again 20% from Oct 2- Jan 2)

Mind you, even when the “Main Street Electrical Parade” eventually does return to Anaheim, that doesn’t automatically mean that this classic parade will continue to roll through DCA. You see, for quite a while now, there’s been talk of the MSEP returning to Disneyland. At one point, this parade’s long-anticipated return to The Happiest Place on Earth was going to be the centerpiece of Disneyland’s 55th anniversary celebration. But now … Well, accordingto what my guy in the Team Disney Anaheim building has heard, 2015 could be the year that an all-new version of the MSEP starts rolling through that theme park. With many of the more beloved floats from this classic Disneyland parade being artfully reimagined using only the very latest in luminescent technologies.

The bitter sweet part, bitter since its been mentioned in many places that the parade would return to DL for the 55th, where the DCA version really belongs, I believe the one that MK originally had is in HKDL right now. One can hope that the rumor for the 60th comes true.

Start a bit of a rant here.
but for now this leaves 2 rumors killed. 1st the new day time Worlds of Wonder parade(which was said to be park specific themed) and now Electrical Parade out. You gotta wonder what TDA has left to pull out for DL's 55th, yes theres World of Color but thats at DCA.

DLR will have lots and lots of parade storage freed up. While Celebrate! A Street Party is nice its no parade at least theres Pixar Play Parade but thats at DCA too.

end small rant

Heres a question, will the dumbo floats be returning? I thought I heard that DCA added the pixie dust trail to the dumbo floats as well.... I think the Small World floats should return! THAT would be sweet! :-) and the dreamlights soundtrack does have the Small World segment ;-)

Also has it been confirmed yet if the music will remain the dreamlights soundtrack? I would assume that's the case however in the press event video they said "Enhanced Classic Version" and never said it would be the same DCA soundtrack....

I wish the Blue Fairy would be back...:o

Something I am wondering is when it was confirmed that MSEP was coming back here on wdwmagic the article said new floats, new music and ALL LED LIGHTS... Now I was under the impression that DCA added SOME LED lights to the floats but not 100% all LEDS... Is is possible that WDW will be making further updates to the parade making it 100% LEDs?

I'm pretty sure most are LEDs, others are different just for effects. Like the tube lighting.

So I'm confused. Summer Nightastic vs. SpectroMagic? I just saw the dates for Nightastic to be at WDW this summer and I will be visiting between those dates. Which one is better? I absolutely LOVE SpectroMagic and if it's being replaced for the summer I hope it's as good as everyone's making it out to be. I have never seen Nightastic so I would appreciate learning more about what it's like. Are the music and floats completely different, etc. Thanks!

Summer Nightastic! was a summer promo pushed out by DLR last year that included, enhancements to Fantasmic!(new HD projections, Flotsam and Jetsam, new Crocodile, and late in the game the new Dragon), a new firework show, night time shows at Pixie Hollow, TLT Dance Club,
as well as entrenchments to Disney's Electrical Parade
-New Tinker Bell float,
-Pixie dust trails on all the floats
-New music (pretty much Tokyo Disneyland Dream Lights soundtrack but with out the vocals)
-The return of the Snow White and Pinocchio units, removal of Dumbo
-Small enhancements to the

  • [*]-Drum float
[*] -Alice units(butterfly now moves its wings, a new Cheshire cat, new frog, and new caterpillar with a projected face)
[*] -New skull and removal of Tink from Peter Pan unit
    [*] -Elliot's wings now move
[*] -New fireworks and banner on the To Honor America float

The bold is basically your answer :) :o:D

Last Chance! See Disney's Electrical Parade at Disney's California Adventure 3/19-4/11 and 4/16-4/18 before it goes to Walt Disney World.

Heres hoping it can use the whole DCA route.
