Full Size Crib Rental

We are heading to WDW in a week and taking our 9 mo old son. We have stayed in hotels before and used a Pack n Play crib for him to sleep in. He is able to sleep in them but not as well as a real crib. So having a real crib during a very busy Disney trip would help us and him tremendously. We located a place called Baby's Away that rents baby needs to travelers such as cribs, car seats, etc. But the Orlando location doesn't seem to be open any more as our phone calls have gone unreturned for 2 weeks. Does anyone else know of any other place else that rents and delivers cribs to your hotel room in the Orlando area? FYI we are staying at Pop Century. Thanks

Have you checked with Pop Century about what size their cribs are? It's been a while since my kids were that young, but I think I remember full-size cribs at other Disney resorts.

(Help me out JP!)

All Disney Resorts offer Pack-n-Play style cribs only. If you would like a full size crib, (or other child care equipment) I would suggest contacting All About Kids at 407-812-9300. This is a non-Disney company, but has been verified by Walt Disney World to be reparable. Items available to rent include:

Car safety seats
Booster seats
Strollers
Full size cribs
Bedrails
Playpens
Walkers
Highchairs
Bouncers (for infants)
Swings
Safety gates

Hope this helps! :sohappy:

Thanks JP. With that information I was able to find a couple more baby vacation rental places. For those who are interested here they are:

A Baby's Best Friend: 888-461-2229
Kids in Safety Seats: 877-990-5477

Both have websites as well. Please note as JP said these are NOT DISNEY owned or operated. Both sites however do work with Disney Resorts to get your equipment delivered. Hope this helps others like me.

I've only used the portable cribs at WDW. To be honest, I'm not sure the rooms are large enough for a full size crib.

We were in pop just this past April and we brought our own pack and play.. and there was just enough room next to the ent. center thing to put it.. I cannot imagine where a full size crib would go... So look into that fact also.

I don't think they would fit in the rooms at the WL either. We did have a room at the Polynesian that looked like it had enough room.

My inclination would be to go with the one JP suggests as Disney has checked them out to be reputable. Even though they aren't owned/controlled by Disney, the fact that they checked them out would make me feel better about renting from them. Unless other folks have used the other places and could give good experiences, I'd be a bit hesitant about them.

I once heard of someone who just used the Pack-n-Play and gathered a bunch of hotel towels, a few extra hotel blankets, and a couple of baby's own blankets from home to set up a makeshift "matress" for their baby to put into the Pack-n-Play.

From what I read, they folded and stacked the towels on the bottom of the Pack-n-Play for added support, and then folded the blankets to fit in the Pack-n-Play for soft comfort, placed one of the blankets from home on top of the towel and blanket "matress", and then covered the baby with the other blanket from home. Apparently, the baby slept rather soundly and comfortably, and awoke fresh every morning.

Like you and me, no matress will EVER be like the one we sleep on at home. Same thing with baby. So WHY, especially after spending how much on your WDW vacation, would you spend more money on a crib when one is provided?!

The above mentioned sounded like the perfect alternative to me, and a heck of a lot cheaper! Just a suggestion!

We have requested a king bed and hope to have enough room.

Maggiegrace, did you have a king or 2 double beds?

Hey! :) I just got back last night actually from a 10 day stay in the world with a way above average length 8 month old. We were lucky enough to get a King room at the All Star Music, they put a pack-n-play in our room that was very very tiny. My daughter's head touched one end and her feet touched the other... I really wish we had thought ahead to rent a crib... I highly recommend doing so! She sleeps through the night at home - but being in a crib that was so small, she woke up 2 and 3 times a night while on vacation (but that also could have something to do with her freight train snoring daddy as well ;)) Just for the record though - we spent the first 3 nights at the WDW Dolphin - which did provide us with a not quite full size crib - but it was much larger than the Disney provided pack-n-play's... It came with a bumper and our daughter slept very well in that. In the future I'll be renting a crib I think... if your child isn't crawling yet you could always lay a comforter down on the floor beside the TV stand and the dividing bathroom wall... and line the side with pillows - we did this one night just to see how she'd do but she crawled right over the pillows before we had even turned the lights off... but if you're little person isn't too much of a mover yet - this might be an option - try bringing her/his crib bumper from home and lining the floor with it (around the comforter) it might work - you never know... :D

Hope this helps a little - and when you check into the Pop - be sure to tell them you really need a King - the earlier in the day you check in the better... they'll have more rooms available for the picking! :)

Hope you have a wonderful trip - there's nothing like seeing a baby's face react to the characters... Lizzy would have brought them all home with her if she could have!

I'm currently pregnant and planning a trip to disney for early next year, my baby will be about 4 months. I'm from the UK and am not sure what a pack-n-play crib is, what size is it and what does it look like. can anyone help?

I hate to say this, but don't drag a 4 month old to WDW. It will only cause all types of headaches for you.

Pack & Play

The ones in WDW don't come with the optional cradle for babies. It's really just a small playpen

To each his own....no?

I've read comment both agreeing with you and not. so as the trip was booked before I realised I was pregnant, i'm going to take my chances. thanks anyway

You can still have a great trip with an infant as long as you realize you will need to schedule your day around the baby's needs (and what parent doesn't do that already? ).
