Ft. Wilderness Camping at Christmas

It seems we are late to the party, but my husband was hoping to take our motorhome to Disney this coming Christmas, but the online reservations are saying the campground is full. There are some tent/pop-up sites, but our 45ft motorhome won't fit in those. I haven't called reservations yet, but was wondering if anyone has any experience getting a campsite at Christmas. Will it be impossible at this point?

Not that we don't already have two Disney trip planned between now and then (and my husband is taking my dad and our sons to Disney Land this summer) but still, a Christmas in Disney would be a fun way to end the year. Any advice or BTDT experience would be appreciated.

I'd call. I can't imagine ALL the campsites being full.

For Christmas week for a 45 foot RV... yeah it's quite possible that there are no sites available that will fit it. Your best option is to call and if they can't find any openings then you might be able to get waitlisted.

The busiest time of the year...yeah, it might be hard to get the spot you want.

I agree with calling. Best of luck to you! We stayed in one of the cabins this past December and it was awesome! If you do get a spot be sure to bring decorations for your RV and area because those folks go all out.

Impossible? I don't know. Keep checking.

But it is extremely popular and busy for Christmas. People reserve far in advance. And they all decorate. It's very fun for me to visit and walk around to see it all.

You might want to make other arrangements, just in case you can't get in there.

I'd call too, but all the campsites may very well be full. If you camp and have ever stayed at Ft. Wilderness, you know that it may well be the best campground on the planet.

My friends were staying at BWV two years ago around the holidays and the family visited Ft. Wilderness - their boys loved seeing how all the campsites were decorated and how festive and fun it was. I can see why it would be full.... I think the previous posters have it right - call and see if there is a waitlist... you never know what might open up.
