We have stayed at Disney many times but never in the cabins. WE have booked there for the first time but know vey little. If we will be relying on Disney Transportation to get to parks. What would be the best location?? Thanks so much!

All of the Cabins are in one area which is on the Orange Bus loop. The Orange Loop goes from the main bus depot all the way down to the Settlement near the boat launch. At the main bus depot, you will catch buses to DAK, DHS, Epcot & Disney Springs. You catch a boat to the MK from the boat launch. At times, the Orange & Purple Bus routes are combined, but still start and end at the same locations.

There were some cabins closer to Settlement Depot but I'm unsure if they're placing any new ones there. Regardless, it was a handful from an inventory over 300 so I never bothered to request.

If you'll rent a golf cart then it really doesn't matter what cabin location but if you won't then I'd recommend requesting a smaller loop like 2500. Many loops are large and risk being buried deep in the back with a longer walk to a bus stop. Even if close to a bus stop there's still a need to wait for a bus. Personally, I don't risk it but instead rent a golf cart.

There are 2 on loop 100. I think one of them is the sales office and the other is being used as the model room.

I would definitely rent a Golf Cart. We’ve stayed there many times in our RV and the Golf cart is more convenient than the internal bus loop. Plus if you need something from Outpost, it’s a nice way to get there. It tends to be a little pricey, I think between $65-$70 a day. If you have a larger family they do have 6 passenger ones. I would certainly call and reserve one before your trip. You’ll have a great time there. Don’t forget the Electrical Water Parade each night around 9:30. Plus the beach/boat dock area is a great place to view the MK fireworks. Another good reason for the Golf Cart.

@disneyaggie , you don’t mention whether you booked a DVC cabin or the old-style cabin. I believe that the old ones are still a bookable category.

That will determine which loop you could be in. They are replacing the cabins one loop at a time.

Just my .02 - I stayed at the cabins for a week about 2 years ago. The transportation to ANYWHERE was beyond slow and very long. The boat ride back from MK was just ridiculous. They used the boats for the cabins to shuttle the hyper-premium hotels first. It was a 90 minute trip to cross the lagoon. This was at park closing time...

We’ve stayed at FW many times and never encountered a 90 minute boat ride from the MK to FW. It’s a direct route with no other stops. Similar to the boat that travels from MK to WL. There is a boat that travels between FW, WL, and the Contemporary, actually 2 boats. And although it’s a longer route, it’s not 90 minutes. Perhaps during the Covid timeframe when they were short of qualified people to operate the boats between resorts. But when we were there in September, all of boats were running fine. We have encountered long internal bus times in FW, but that’s why we get the Golf Cart.

Respectfully, it was 90 minutes. Your experience was not mine. JUST because this was not your experience, does NOT mean this was not the case and the above did not occur. It's faulty logic to say different. EVERYTHING stated by me prior is 100% spot on and factual.

The only way the boat ride from Magic Kingdom to Fort Wilderness was 90 minutes was if the passengers were rowing.

Unless the boat broke down while you were on it or it had some major mechanical issues, the ride did not take 1.5 hours.

Are you including the wait for the boat?

You say they used the boats for the cabins to shuttle the premium hotels first.

Sometimes WL and FW share a boat. But that’s just one deluxe resort. The Poly and Grand Floridian have their own route.

And when you say “across the Lagoon” what do you mean? Your boat would have gone over the water bridge to Bay Lake and the possibly to WL followed by FW.

Did you maybe get a WL boat and then switch to a Bay Lake boat g to gay went to the Contemporary first?

Something isn’t adding up. Unless there was some problem like a boat breaking down on the water bridge.

I see Unc is a new member and has 4 posts. 2 of which were on here. Hope they come back, but that was a wildly amusing post about the boat ride. Come back Uncle. We all have had posts like this.
