Frustration with T-Mobile

Sooo yea...
Back around the end of November, I purchased my first cell phone that came with a monthly plan (I had been with Verizon and AT&T's prepaid plans before...). I was really excited knowing that I would no longer have to worry about running out of time when talking to someone.. no more prepaid cards.

When I bought the phone, they told me I would be billed for my activation fee and first month of service on December 10th. Well, that time came and went... around the 20th of December, I called them. They told me not to worry about it (can you believe that!?) and to call back at a later time. Pssssh.

So, I called back two weeks later. They then informed me that the T-Mobile rep. who had processed my order in November had typed in the wrong address. Instead of just being RR4 Box.... she put: 1 North Main St. RR4 Box... I think automatically remembered that she had told me that she did that due to the fact that her computer would not accept a rural route box.

So yea... they told me I owed $66 and some cents. I paid it with my debit card at the local T-Mobile store.

Just when I think everything is alright... I go home tonight (after my friend switches to T-Mobile tonight) to find out what I can do on the tmobile.com website. I decided to go into the billing section.

And here is what suprised me..... Total Due: $88.24! They never credited my account the $66 dollars!

Needless to say.... the $66 dollars was taken out of the account, and I do not have another $88.24 in there to give to T-Mobile. Looks like I have some complaining to do tomorrow.

I'm sorry about this whole rant, but I am really frustrated right now.

I had the exact same problem when I first signed up with T-Mobile. Hopefully you can straighten this out with them.. Somtimes those reps are stubborn as a mule.

Sometimes it takes up to a week or so to get your credit through the system.

I'd either pay the difference or wait for your next bill and make them get rid of any late fees because it was their screw up.

I had problems like this with Verizon, and I got so fed up with them, i threatened them I would go with Nextel, and they said we dont care, and I did, and since I have gone with Nextel I have been happy. Their cust. service is great and they are the only cell comapny i know that has some compasion about their customers.

I disagree... I used to have a HUGE $$$ corporate account with NextHell at another company I used to work for... and with the $$$ we spent with them a month with a nationwide corporate account... they treated me and my fellow co-workers like crap. Ugh...

There repeaters suck... and they should really upgrage them to handle more volume ... especially in such a big city as Chicago.

Oh... and try using your two way feature in St. Louis... aint gonna happen, good luck trying to get a signal and hitting a repeater. :brick:

Anywhoo... a happy t-mobile data and voice customer here... cust. service has been great.. no probs what so ever... they credited $35 (just out of the blue) to my account.. just because it took them a little longer than expected to port my old Sprint number to my new t-mobile phone... That Rocked :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

How odd, i get the total opposite. They are always so helpful to me. There are some hard spots to get service but places I visit a lot like NYC, Orlando, Philadelphia, i get great service. They also credited our account, when we felt their activation charges were high. All in all, i found them helpful.

For a WDW connection....

I was with TMoblie when they used to be VoiceStream. Back on New Year's Eve 2000/2001, I was in Epcot and had my cell phone in my highly over-stuffed backpack, and I didn't realize the inportance of learning how to lock the keypad on my phone. This was also in the days before my nationwide calling plan.

Got a bill with an $80 phone call on it from NYE. Apparently, my pohone got bumped around and auto-dialed my brother back in NJ.

One call to customer service, and the operator quickly and happi;y removed that chanrge from my account.

I haven't had a problem with them since...
