Frozen standby wait during early EMH?

If we arrive at rope drop on an early opening day at EPCOT and go straight to Frozen without a FP+, what kind of standby wait might we expect during a non-peak day in January?

I don't think we can get anything more than speculation what it might be at this point since the ride is brand new. But I would be curious to hear what people were experiencing over the last couple of weeks in similar situation (early morning EMH).

I was wondering a similar question. We are going on a Wednesday in January (non-peak). Have reservations at 8:25 at Auskerhus and park opens at 9. Kinda hoping that we wouldn't have to use our fastpass on Frozen. What time does that ride open? I know that other things in the international showcase do not open until later.

We did EMH a few weeks a go, just to check this out and it was interesting. We didn't have any issues but we were "walking" swiftly and zigzagging smartly. They do several stops where they horde you up like cattle, but as long as you can walk quickly, you shouldn't have any issues.

By the time we arrived into Maelstrom..., sry I mean Frozen Ever After, it took no more than 10 minutes to ride the ride, not including the walking and herding us up. However, upon leaving the ride and exiting Norway the ride had extending all the way around to China by 8:30 or so. Hope this helps.

When I went to EMH for Frozen Ever After I could tell I wasn't the only one whose first thought was to go to Frozen. I had to fast walk to Frozen in order to get a good spot but when I got there the ride was down so the line was long (past Akershus). The CM's said they didn't know when it would start running again so we waited in line for about 15-20 minutes before the ride actually opened. So when it opened it was like 15 minutes before I actually got onto the ride. It wasn't that bad to be honest. If the ride was actually opened for EMH I'm sure the wait would've been less than 20 minutes.

At the MK they started letting people in to the park to line up and as soon as the park actually "opens" they will let you board and ride. Hollywood Studios used to do it for Toy Story as well. I wonder if Epcot will start doing it for Frozen? I CAN tell you that I had a FP to it on an accident for our September trip but I wanted Soarin' more and My Disney Experience wouldn't let me change it. So I called DVC and told them about it and they gave me a Soarin' fp at the expense of my Frozen one and said they couldn't even give us a "special" fp to Frozen because it's just so in demand. I'm not that worried about it though. If we don't ride next month we'll just ride it when we get back in May. It's pretty crazy that you can't get a special fp to it though because honestly CM's give me extra fp's at Bay Lake all the time. We've rode Toy Story 8 times in one day before because of that. I honestly think when I get to BLT that they will hook me up. I've sorta built acquaintances with some of the CM's there and they are really cool and will give you the hook up. I've sorta got my fingers crossed for that anyway.

That's the ride everyone will run to first. My trip was in July. We chose to "swiftly walk" to Soarin' first and do everything in that area, then later we had a FP for Frozen. Same thing for 7DMT. We had a 10:00 FP and were able to ride everything in Fantasyland first. To answer your question about stand by times, I'd say it averaged 90 minutes. (We watched the times and we never noticed it at a crazy 5 hours like the media has been reporting.)

Last week, we got to Maelstrom at Rope Drop. The wait was about 15 minutes. BUT, there were no FP reservations until 11. So we rode it three times because the line moves rather quickly. About 15 minute wait each time. At 11am when FP riders arrived, the wait jumped up to 90 minutes.

If you can, try to get a FP. If you can't, get a Soarin FP+ and rope drop Frozen. Lines haven't been as crazy as posted by some. You should be fine if you get there 30 minutes or so before opening. After that do Test Track in single rider. If you really can't do single rider (Which I HIGHLY recommend), FP Test Track and wait in Soarin's line. It is just as boring as before, but I got on in 15 minutes at about 3:00 during July. I think the extra capacity is really helping.
