this ones for you Disneyphilip, since I know you liked that show..

the show is returning soon, I don't have a date yet, but the rehearsals start next weeks. From the looks of it, they've added to the show, but I'll post more as I know

Sounds cool, especially since the bears are back. What changes were made to the CBJ costumes, btw, and do you know why they were suspended for the MK for that while? :veryconfu

they put it on hiatus to do the Main Street Trolley Show. The costumes haven't changed from what I've seen, and I don't think this means anything for the Main Street Trolley Show. Just more entertainment in MK for the busy summer season

It's a Frontierland parade in the Magic Kingdom, featuring many dance couples and the Country Bears. I haven't seen it yet, but I was able to catch them "going behind the white line" (transition from on-stage to backstage)!

Actually, I found out about the Hoedown's return before you just reported it.

Also, another thing that I learned many months ago--the Main Street Trolley Show DID NOT replace Hoedown! The Trolley Show was just added as an enhancement for Main Street.

Besides, you cannot replace something in one land with something in another land--it doesn't make sense.

The REAL reason why the Hoedown was MIA for so long was because of staffing.

Plus, MK Duty Manager George (who runs the park) said that the Hoedown will be back for good when it returns.

My sources also told me that it'll be back on either June 22nd or 26th.

My sources have also told me that they've gotten thousands of complaints regarding the Hoedown's absence.

Please trust me and my sources.

I've wanted to share my info since I've gotten it for a long time, but hesitated to, fearing that no one would believe me.

I've known for quite a while too Philip... I was just waiting for the confirmation that it was OK to post...

it's just funny to me, what does the operations manager have to do with entertainment offerings.

I was trying to keep this thread lighthearted and fun. You just dissected it and ruined it.

And Philip, trust my sources as well.... they're seldom wrong

That's understandable.

it's just funny to me, what does the operations manager have to do with entertainment offerings.
Because people like managers actually talk to the sources too. That's why. Also, management is a high position and they run the places.

Also, some of the specific MK Attractions CMs and security guards that I've talked to regarding Hoedown, characters and other issues know because they too have actually talked to people in entertainment. I DON'T mean Attractions CMs and security guards in general, ONLY "specific" ones.

Sorry. That was NOT my intention, so please forgive me for that. I wanted it to stay lighthearted, too, but I was only just sharing info too.

And Philip, trust my sources as well.... they're seldom wrong
I have never said that I don't trust your sources.

Not necessarily.

I mean...such as the cast, dancers, performers, character managers, etc. who also know.

This is NOT a personal attack.

I'm just trying to be honest without letting things get out of hand.

I know that we and everyone else don't know everything.

I understand... I don't know everything. But I know a lot... ps- you just described me with your second stanza

Correction...

What grizzlyhall was trying to ask was if they made any changes to the Country Bear walk-around characters and why the Bear walk-arounds got taken out of the Magic Kingdom for that brief period of time this past January.

Also, Mkt, did you find out about what enhancements they made to the Frontierland Hoedown yet?

I'm certain that all of the same stuff, choreography, etc. will still be in it and the 2 main guest participation sequences (the square dance and the line dance) will remain.

What is the hoedown and Main Street Trolley show? We have been there most years (in the summer) and never heard of it and would love the kids to see it? Also any idea what days/times it is held?

Thanks:confused:

I'm not MKT, but I can be of some assisstance.

The Frontierland Hoedown is a small parade-like interactive show featuring many dance couples and the Country Bear walk-around characters. The dancers invite guests onto the street to participate in a square dance and later in a line dance.

They enter and exit near Splash Mountain.

The Hoedown takes place in the streets of Frontierland outside the Country Bear Jamboree, Prarie Outpost & Supply and Pecos Bill's Tall Tale Inn & Cafe.

I heard from MKT that more characters might be added to the Hoedown this year.

The Main Street Trolley Show takes place on Main Street every morning.

It starts at the top of Main Street, near the Tip Board. It features 8 to 12 dancers, who sing and dance alongside one of the horse-drawn trolleys for a few minutes, then hop aboard the trolley and ride it down the street, stop and get off at another point along the street and do the same song and dance routines again. They continue this until they reach Town Square, where the dancers get off the trolley for the last time and exit near the Main Street Gallery.

Those 2 shows are small, yet wonderful and very entertaining. I highly recommend seeing them and I hope that you'll get to see them when you come down to WDW.
