From Sandford to Epcot Resorts - Best route?? Help needed

We will be arriving at Sanford Airport and was wonering which is the best route to get to the Epcot Resorts (apparently exit 67 off the I-4). My GPS gives me 2 alternatives:

Airport - Lake Mary Blvd - I-4 (apparently no toll)

Airport - Central Fl Greenway (417) - E-W Expressway (408) (Toll)

Which one would you choose?

How much is the toll route going to cost us?

If you're not doing it at rush hour, I-4 is fine. The toll roads might be faster during rush hour.

Can't tell you what the total tolls would be though.

You'll probably see about 6 or 7 major lights on Lake Mary Blvd before you get to I-4, so expect to drive about 20 minutes west on Lake Mary Blvd before you reach I-4, even at 10pm.

The other route you suggested... the 417 to the 408 will cost you about $4 total in tolls... and the 408 will actually connect with I-4 in downtown Orlando.

There won't be any traffic on the 417 or the 408, however lately I've noticed there's been contruction on I-4 westbound near Maitland Ave and Lee Road at random hours during the week, anywhere from 10pm to 2am. The whole interstate heading towards downtown and Disney being forced down to 1 or 2 lanes. AVOID THIS IF POSSIBLE. What a nightmare.

My suggestion? Spend the $4 and take the toll roads. Piece of cake.

For $4 you'll avoid driving down Lake Mary Blvd and potential lane closures on I-4.

the 417:
* You'll likely have to pay to get on the 417 at Lake Mary Blvd, either $0.25 or $0.50

* There's a $2.00 toll plaza before you cross over Lake Jessup (not a road, an actual lake)

* There a $.75 toll plaza near University Blvd

Then you'll get on the 408


the 408:
*Pretty sure there's just a $0.75 toll plaza before you cross over Lake Underhill (again, an actual lake, not the road Lake Underhill) and no other tolls before you get downtown and meet up with I-4

Also arriving in Sanford, my planned route is from the Airport onto Lake Mary Bvld, then on to the SR417(toll), follow this all the way to the junction with SR408(toll) keep right and contiune on the SR417(toll), at junction 3 turn off onto the Osceola Parkway and straight in to Disney.

Landing at 4pm so looking at leaving the airport bang in the middle of rush hour.

Any thoughts ?
