From landing at MCO to WDW check-in - How bad/variable is the Orlando traffic in the evening on any given day?

2 adults landing at MCO at 5pm (no customs) on a Sunday in mid-late August with checked luggage and planning to Uber from MCO to Pop, what time do you think we would get to the resort at?

About an hour and 15 minutes if your plane is on time and everything goes perfectly. Plane being late which is more than possible that time of year due to weather somewhere, unloading of luggage can be quick or not so much and traffic will mostly depend on time of day. We usually make no plans on arrival day unless arriving early in the morning. Hope that helps

and of course what you are use to might influence how you feel. I'm use to nyc traffic :D:eek: Im a happy camper anytime I get over 20 mph. Like @Figgy1 our travel day we usually spend at Disney Springs and at walmart getting supplies for the rest of the week.
I know the weekends use to be heavy travel days but you may not have a lot of traffic with it being Sunday. I think you can safely say 90 minutes

Driving time, once in a rideshare, is estimated to be 25-45 minutes (per Google maps, which allows you to pick a day and time for your travel time estimate), depending on traffic that particular day. FWIW, our August afternoon travel times from the airport have always "felt" slow (lots of stop and go, plus we're anxious and impatient to arrive!), but I don't think it's every actually taken us more than half an hour.

I can't give an estimate on the time it will take to get your luggage: we never check any. For us, the big time-waster variable is taking a potty break en route to ground transportation. The MCO ladies' rooms always have ridiculous lines! 🤣

So true and funny. None of us could drive a family car solo until we could navigate getting into and out of the city using the Lincoln Tunnel. The Walmart on Turkey Lake by Whole food is usually less crowded than the one by Disney same goes for the one on 27 most of the time

Suprisingly, I-4 is extremely predictable once past Universal. Expect to go 10-20 MPH between Seaworld/Convention Center on-ramp and the second off ramp (the main one) for Disney World. It won’t vary much day to day.

Go to MCO baggage claim bathrooms or Hyatt hotel bathrooms . Its less crowded than at the main terminal or the longest lines for bathrooms - by the gates

We have landed at 5:30 on Sundays for our last few trips. Getting our luggage and rental car probably take as long or longer than actually driving to Disney. We took 528 West over to I-4 East. Traffic was easy on 528 but was a little heavy on I-4, especially around Vineland but still moved at 45-50 mph. Total drive time was probably no more than 25 minutes. We typically fly Delta and the baggage claim area is not close to the rental car area.

Why not take the 417 Greenway toll road? It is a straight shot to WDW from MCO. The defunct DME and Ubers take the same route.
