Actually it may be a tie between the jolly roger and parrot. I am not sure which I am gonna miss more!
It just ticks me that there was no reason for those to be taken out. For one nothing was replacing them. If the sign was going right where the parrot was then maybe that is reasonable. It just seems they took him out for the heck of it. Simply the coolest outdoor AA ever! Something unique.
Same thing with the jolly roger above the drop tunnel. If the davey jones effect is right after dispatch in the caverns then why should a skull and crossbones matter? Why can't we have both? :(

Oh my GOD!

I didn't realize the Parrot out front is gone also! I'm ed! I really like the Davy Jones mist, I can even handel the new AA, but when you take away the best part of the ride,that is where I draw the line! First the cross bones now the bird! All I can say is protest!

It officially opens on 7/7, yesterday was a CM preview and there might be soft openings as early as today.

I won't be there until Feb '07, so... :cry:

Davy Jones says "Dead men tell no tales" among other things (I rode it this morning). The fog effect is the best part of what they've added IMO. It looks like the boats ahead of you disappear through it.

I agree that peg leg pete the parrot should have at least been moved. Thats my daughters favorite part of the ride. Im trying to think of what I can tell her in a month when we walk up to the ride and she says "what happened to the parrot!!" I guess he was old and had to retire.:lol:

You are supposed to. You are supposed to hear Paul Frees voice still echo "dead men tell no tales" and then Davey Jones interrupts it and comes on and says things like "but they do tell tales" and "tales be a plenty in this custom."

I am not sure though that is just what was said to happen. It does in Disneyland now. It does not sound likely since they have said the Davey jones effect is so early right after you leave dispatch it would not give much time to hear "dead men tell no tales" Unless of course they moved that line closer....I hope.

Hopefully they tweak with it over time. From the videos I have seen(except an official one) the Davey Jones audio was not the greatest...then again the videos did not have the greatest sound and do not always capture the best audio.

I just hope they tweak out the bugs in the next week...which I am sure is their main focus right now.:wave:

So I was totally shocked and very impressed that they got the job done and had it open today. It looked 10 times better today, trust me. Yes, you still hear "Dead Men Tell No Tales, tales, tales..." many times in the grotto. There is a safety spiel at load (been there for a couple of years...), so there doesn't necessarily need to be a safety spiel again at the top of the down ramp. Would I like to see Roger added back to the attraction? Sure. Does it ruin the attraction to not have him there? Nope. If I were to put him in, I'd have him give the safety spiel mounted just below the tower window at Load. He wouldn't make sense (actually would look pretty silly) in his old location now. The new music, new cannon effects, better sound and lighting, and the way there's now a conclusion rather than "wha... it's over?!?!?" makes this version a vast improvement in my book.

I'm guilty of that. Haha. Ran over to the ride during my 15 min. break. Was excitedly talking about it afterward and jumping around a bit for awhile. It made my day. :eek:
