Fridge or No fridge?

I am staying at Pop and there is no fridge which really isn't a huge deal but would make things easier with like bringing snacks with us that may need to stay cool like my friend eats pieces of bread for a snack (weird I know!) but yeah I'm thinking about bringing mini bagels and that way we can save on time spent eating and more time in the parks and we wanna get water from the gift shop since we wont have a rental car to go to the gorcery store and stuff like that. I know ti cost about 10 bucks a day and Im willing to spend the 80 dollars but idk if it is worth it. Has anyone else stayed at Pop with and without a fridge?

Everywhere I've stayed, with or without a fridge, it wouldn't be/wasn't used.

I'm on vacation, other people feed me...

I have to agree! For $10 a day I can buy the water and whatever else I want to store in it!

I do however bring a soft sided cooler and I fill it with ice. I keep milk for the morning and any leftovers (desserts mostly) in it! It works... and it's a heck of a lot cheaper than $10 a day.

But maybe I'm not the one to ask b/c sometimes I can be cheap like that!:animwink:

I only take a small soft sided cooler that folds up pretty flat in my luggage - I fly too (all the way from NL, Canada)! We just get fresh ice in the morning before we head to the parks and then we get fresh ice in the evening before we go to bed and just zip it up - it keeps the food pretty cold, we've never had a problem!

Again, like I said we only use it for milk, some fruit, desserts, etc.

I've had a fridge before while staying at AKL but our next trip we'll be at Pop also with no fridge. Unlike you I am cheap and cannot see spending $80 on a fridge for the week. We are driving so I plan on bringing a medium size cooler on wheels, just big enough for milk for cereal, water bottles, and juice boxes for the kids. I agree that a soft sided cooler should fit well in your suitcase but it probably won't fit too much stuff so if you think you have a good amount of food to be refridgerated than maybe getting the fridge is a good idea for you.

I like having a fridge but I'm not sure I would pay extra for it. We basically use it to keep water cool (kinda pointelss as it will warm up during the day whilst being carried around....) and for milk / breakfast stuff as we never eat breakfast at a restaurant.

I probably wouldn't spend $80 for it but if you feel it will be convinient and solve a few problems then it's worth it.

We have requested one for our Sept trip @ Pop. I have 2 kids that don't drink soda or alot of water. I get the fridge so that I can bring juice boxes with me and they're in the room cold at the beginning and end to each day. DH also likes to have some beer in the room to unwind at the end of the day. It's easier/cheaper to buy a 6 pack at the store and keep it in the room instead of hitting hte bar every night.

We never pay for the fridge when we go. (We go twice a year) We just buy the refill mugs and then we get ice from the machine down the hall so even if we bring juice or soda, we just use the ice to fill the cups to make our drinks cool. When we stay at moderate hotels we only use them for our soda's because they're there. We wouldn't have paid for them though. Unless you have a little one that's on milk I wouldn't think you'd need one.

Thanks for all the opinions! They have been really helpful.. I am just so used to traveling and always going to a hotel ( POP is my first motel like place) and I have always had a fridge. This is also only the second time I have traveled by myself with friends and I have no clue what to expect at Disney. I have decided that I won't spend the 80 bucks and use that on like souvenirs and stuff and just get groceries delivered just basically 2x 32 packs of water and one of those like Styrofoam coolers and get ice from the ice machines.

I know we had a fridge at POP last October and we did not ask for one, or pay for one. We did have a preferred room, maybe that was it?
